What a place to end on! At least I have another chapter to read!! I was so pleased Ana got to speak to Ken, bless her. It's nearly all over and she'll be free again. This is such a good chapter, Sal, I don't know how you manage to do get all the details so believeable, were you a detective once? Brilliant chapter again! :)) Sandra xxx

Hi Sally,
Another suspenseful chapter. You're doing so well as the story draws to a close.
It seems like Tony might find a way out of the prison lock-up. The guards aren't very sharp, and the lightning bolt has caused a power loss. If he acts quickly, he just might be able to climb over the fence before it can fry him. It sounds like he's willing to just make good his escape and head to the Caribbean. He knows he's toast if he stays in the USA.
It looks like there's a romance kindling between Analiese Irving and Ken Washburn. Who would have guessed?
And Miles is a lucky boy that Detective Mike Lembowsky was on the ball, and decided to join his partner in the field of sugar cane... "he remembered the wisdom of his years: alone is never good." A few more seconds, and Eugene might have got a shot off at the Lieutenant. Then, there would have been no reunion with his sister, Camille. Experience is so important, but often overlooked.
In a way, I hope that Tony Alfanzi does escape, and head south. Of course, if he was to fall overboard, sharks might eat him. Or perhaps he might head straight into a hurricane sliding up the east coast! What is that saying? "What goes around, comes around."
Looking forward to the next chapter!
Hugs,
Kimbob

I believe this is my first time reading this, but I've read enough to be really interested. I hope Alfanzi dismisses those thoughts of escaping. If he's caught, things might end badly.

Oh there are storms brewing everywhere. At least the call between Analiese and Ken is a pleasant romantic kind of storm. The others sound a bit more menacing. I wonder what kind of illness Eugene Izard has. Hope they still can get the information from him.

Good thing they caught this guy. Perhaps it's a lucky thing for him, too. If he survives sepsis it will be because they got him to the hospital in time. And I'm on the edge of my seat to see if Tony can escape.

So Alfanzi has thoughts of ways to escape and I just wonder whether he's got the means to get away with it. This is another lovely chapter. I'm so taken with the whole story. Now, you've left us on a cliffhanger. Now what? Ulla xxx

Ah, thank you so much for the lovely review and generous stars. It means so much. What a week of setbacks for me. I have not started my next chapter. My sister Suzy has just informed me her husband is gravely ill. He begins his chemotherapy today. She has COVID. I cannot travel to see her and could not see her anyway. Frustrating. My mind is somewhere else. Hopefully I will get in gear by Sunday or Monday.
Sending you my best today as always,

Sally,
I'm a little afraid of what this nasty prisoner may have planned - but it sounds like he will capitalize on the weather situation and take an opportunity to escape. Can't say I blame him.
The other guy is a mystery. Will he live?
Good job!

Hello Sal.
Alfanzi may have a problem in the big house. Last comment about the darkness in the eyes of his guard might be revealing.
Ana's life appears to be getting a little better. She is secure with the current situation it doesn't appear she is in any more danger.
Izard's life appears to be changing as well, however the handcuffs might not be his biggest problem.

That was sure a surprise ending! You are so clever at writing outstanding cliff hangers, Sally -- and I love it. The story continues to be interesting and fast-flowing. Way to go! Smiles, Janet

The jig is up for Eugene, but he may get a death sentence, if the detectives can't get help to come quickly enough. His pal Tony may have already gotten his death sentence, though.
Here are a few minor suggestions for revisions:
A storm moved in just as he was crushing a smoldering cigarette with his toe.

I'm happy that Russ DeWoody's taking good care of Analiese. Detective Sally Law and her two trusty guys (the human and the canine) don't appear in this chapter; I miss them!

Thank you for the lovely review and super duper stars! It means so much. I appreciate the improvements as well. I?m sorry to be so late in this as the news from my sister Suzy has set me back. So much going on this week at home, in the world, and on FanStory. We are traveling up to Jacksonville for a bit but will be back Sunday. Sending you my best today as always,

Dearest Sally, no need to ever apologize for any delays in responding to reviews, and that goes double when a family crisis takes center stage -- I am so sorry for all these troubles! Yet God knows everything, everything you and Suzy are going through.
Prayed for everything you mentioned in one of my two online groups tonight -- St. Paul's Church of the Nazarene is one of our sister churches, and their prayer night is the most anointed time of the week for me. I am blessed to be their guest. Prayed for Suzy's husband, Suzy's Covid and about the mandate (covered Portia, too). I am selective about who/what I pray for, because I have to share with numerous prayer warriors, praise God! These folks are a privilege to pray with. Just sensing God's presence is so encouraging, even over the phone, and I love the way it quickens God's Holy Spirit in me, as well. I will continue to remember your requests, not forgetting to lift your name to the Lord.
Love always, Mary Kay xoxo xoxo
