You've created an intriguing story from that one sentence prompt, Brett. The dialogue is excellent and there is a mystery to the whole thing. I think I need to ponder it more to figure it out. Well written.

I wonder why Shaun Silverman wanted to die, and Delores, his intended, had carried on like he did. I suppose you're right Brett, there are lots of skeletons in people's closets, and this story would never alleviate that, beautifully written my friend, well done, blessings Roy

Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. Yes, small towns do have numerous secretes. I was raised in a town of only 4 thousand people. LOL You did a great job writing this story. The only suggestion I have is that you have switched POV numerous times without notifying your readers. It's okay to switch, but you need to let your readers know you're doing it. I use *****.
