I always look forward to one of your poems for its wisdom and well-written rhyme. It is so true that the possessions that we treasure, we could pass on, end up in a Goodwill Store or in a large trash bin. Our friendships and family are who we should value.
Well stated - another lesson given.
Regards

It's true we can't take anything to heaven, (assuming that's where we are heading for) we will be as naked as a jaybird when we line up for judgement, everything exposed, beautifully written, blessings Roy

Interesting. For sure, poet. We will not take anything with us, but our i9nterman and where it spends eternity is up to a person and His God. Thanks for sharing.

Your sage advice and wisdom are certainly clear in your beautiful poem.
You can't take it with you although some people do cling to their possessions as if they could.

Well done Jay.
Blessings
Janet

Very nice. You rhymed it perfectly, but I don't know why this is a war poem. You didn't mention war in it. You are right. We should value our possessions on earth because we can't take them to heaven.

This is a beautiful poem and it makes so much sense. All my life I've been a collector and now as I age I realize that there is no one to pass it down to since I have no children and the things I deemed precious at one time have no relevance to the younger generation. I've been selling them, giving some away, donating and throwing out. Well done.

Truism! We can't take "stuff" with us. It will not buy us happiness in the next life. Best we leave behind a treasure of love and memories--in this way we live on in the hearts of our family and friends... Love, they say, is eternal! (Stocks and Bonds are NOT!)

You are right. Possessions are not important, love and friendship is what counts. The rhymes do not seem forced. Your poem flows well. It draws on emotions and it presents strong images.
