My wife and I were discussing this very subject this morning, and either of us could be the first to go. But those friends of ours who have lost their partners suffer. This is both profoundly written and very honest, beautifully written and stated, well done, blessings Roy

Oh, I pray this isn't true for you. The sadness. The grief. The
"Love undervalued
Time overlooked."
So, so true! I recently lost my son, so grief is no stranger.

It is true 45 years together I am sorry about your son, we never had children, but I have heard others say it is the hardest grief to bear. Thank You.

As we continue to mourn our dead friends and family members, we look upon the places they once occupied and try to remember them. We hold on to whatever memories we can salvage, but as time passes, it becomes ever more difficult. Today we have the blessing of video to capture them and we are able to replay their presence, still it not sufficient, as you cannot hug an image.

I'm so sorry about your loss. You have expressed your feeling very well in this poem. Yes. Now the fallowing lines are so true:
Love undervalued
Time overlooked.

We should use every minute to love our loved ones.

Thanks for the lesson.

Well done.

'The Sadness of Quiet', is a well-written and heart-wrenching piece. It was a privilege to read and review this talented poet's work. Good luck with the contest. Please let me know how you get on?

What a sad poem, and a great entry in the no rules poetry contest. No joy. Only sadness and the quiet. I hope you enjoy life and have a wonderful night.

This is a beautiful poem of the sadness of loss. I've been there, too. It's not until they have slipped away that we realise we have lost the one person who was always there, and how much we took for granted. We always think there will be another tomorrow. It's comes as a shock to find out how wrong we were. I like the way you have written this, the short, sharp lines punch home the sadness and grief. I'm sorry for your loss, Terry. Those last two lines say so much. Well done and good luck in the contest. Sandra xx

I read your comments on my poem and then I came to read some of your poetry. Very good, grief long endures and never leaves, just fades a bit so we can go on living.

Thank You. In a very few weeks it will be three years, I know that there is no time limit of grief. Thank you for taking the time.

This is a sad and poignant poem. It is also quite beautiful. I think it touches the heart of anyone who has suffered such a loss. I don't know why it is so easy to take for granted people we love when we know the fragility of life. I think it's human nature. I'm sorry for your loss.

This is such a poignant write as we take someone for granted as they become part of our lives and relied upon and when they are suddenly take from us the silence is deafening and the emptiness is profound, I can identify with your words here, love Dolly x
