This is a very sweet and lovely poem about a lovely lady that is no longer her with you. You used very good descriptive words and lovely photo of Zoe. I am so sorry for your loss. Blessings, Teri

Your short phrasing works perfectly here, letting each statement stand on its own and add another layer to the image of love and loss. More importantly, this is suffused with the sensations of bereavement - how time was never enough in retrospect, and thoughts will always walk that path into memory, regardless the growing distance.

This was a heart wrenching read. I could feel your loss in every line. But I also felt that you have such fond memories of her. The poem was just beautiful. Gretchen

This is a great picture and tribute to your lovely wife. Time does not heal, as some people claim. It will be five years next month since my husband died. And the days since he died, I feel the same. Thank you for sharing. One day, we will be reunited with our loved one.

"She is not dead, merely sleeping." All that have crossed over wait for us. Yes, it hurts initially but Jesus said, if you believe in god, believe also in me. Faith is our foundation, no matter the cost. K xx

Terry, don't be modest. You are a poet. This is some outstanding free verse. The melancholy mood it emits is overpowering. I feel your loss (I'm assuming you are the one remembering Zoe).

Charles, thank you for the kind review. Yes, I was married to Zoe for 45 years. I do not write much poetry, more of a storyteller. Terry.

I really enjoyed reading this poem. To me the thought of sadness and quiet are so evident when I remember someone that I lost, that passed away within the last couple of years. Especially it made me think of my mom, and it's quiet here at night, when I don't hear her voice, her laughter, or calling out my name. Thank you for sharing.

Your poem was a great reminder of your beloved wife,
Terry. Yes, you will never forget her, though time moved
forward. Your words were straight from your heart. I believe
Zoe heard every one of them. She is/was a beautiful lady.
Great work with the smooth rhymes and flow, and the true
message.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

A delicate, gentle expression of the pervasive sadness invading after the loss of a significant person in our lives.
There is such a balance in the choice of words "death slipped under the door" transporting the loved one to "mystic light" Finding light in the dark moment of death.
The poem conveys a common truth by its statement:
Before,
Love undervalued
Time overlooked

Beautiful heartfelt poem

-Thanks for sharing the photo, notes, and poem, Terry.
-I didn't know it was not that long ago.
-You do a good job showing your feelings after losing Zoe.
-I am glad you can write about it, and hopefully it helps, if only a little bit.
-It is difficult to comment on a poem like this because it is such a personal situation, and words never seem to be enough.
-I think she would appreciate your sharing about her and the love you shared, and that it is not forgotten.
