I don't think I ever told you, but after meeting God for the first time all those years ago, the next day when I awoke, I saw the sunrise for the first time, and later I understood what Romans I meant when it says, "You are without excuse o man..." so I can relate to this post completely. Well done, Sandra, beautifully written my friend, blessings, Roy
Suggestion, "She'd never seen the sunshine's light.

It?s over for now. My wife said , ?aren?t you unhappy? I said ?it?s just as well it doesn?t run for two days?I?d be 158!? It?s 8:00 AM 11/10/2021 here, but I was spoilt at church, and here, don?t like being the centre of attention, I?d rather do it to others, heh heh.

It's your own fault, Roy, you are such a lovely man everyone wants to spoil you. Fancy you being in tomorrow already!!! LOL xxx

I?d rather spoil there?I don?t know about me so much. But I?m so, so, blessed, by the beauty of others, can?t help but be grateful Sandra, and you are one beautiful lady too.

Such a moving poem! I could not help but think if more would turn to God and less to Prozac or Xanax there'd be a real wholistic and "Holistic" wave of well being realized across the globe! I realize not everyone puts their trust in God. I do. I see you do. I hope more and more realize the power of prayer! Beautifully written!

This is such a lovely, inpsirational, skillfully-composed poem. It vividly describes the wonderful changes that take place when an anxiety-ridden
person fills the void with the loving Lord. (Line 3 ??)

Thank you so much, Janice, for reading my poem and the lovely review. Yes, I made a mistake in the third line, 'so' was supposed to be 'some' but I've changed it again to read...
Each time she thought she'd cleared it all, lots more would come again... Thank you for bringing it to my attention, it was a good catch!! Warm hugs, my friend. Sandra xx

Amen! God will certainly "smoothe each bumpy ride." Beautiful story poem about the growth of faith through prayer written in flowing well metered iambic heptameter!
Hope your back is feeling better, Sandra. I heard some people saying they get relief from those inversion boards but they look scary to me. I guess bats don't get backaches. Sending hugs and prayers!

Thank you, Helen, for this lovely review. My back is very sore at the moment, but I'm going to have an MRI in two weeks time, so they can see what's happening. I have a damaged spine from two car accidents, but although its been bearable before, it's getting worse now. We'll see what the scan shows up. I've seen those inversion boards, I think I'll pass on that one! Lol. No, I don't think bats do get backache! LOL, you are so funny! Warm hugs, dear friend. :)) Sandra xx

The Power of Prayer. How well you have expressed this idea in your beautiful poem, Sandra. How quickly the Lord hears a cry for help, and in His mercy reaches down and lifts the heavy load we carry. I like your closing lines. God doesn't take away all the trials, He just gives us the strength to go through them. Prayer works.
If I may make a suggestion. Line 3 of Verse 1, did you mean to write "some" instead of "so"?

Yes, I did mean, 'some' half of the word went walkabout! Lol. Thank you, Anne, for that. And a big thank you for this lovely review, and golden sixth star. That was so kind of you. Warm hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Excellent poem illustrating the power of prayer. Your metre is terrific as it creates a footnote of brightness, even through the dark beginnings.

Your extended metaphor carries forward to completion that promises freedom from burdens, although recognition that suffering will still occur.

Just a couple of points:

This line:

Each time she thought she'd cleared it all so more would come again,

as it reads it looks like she cleared the detritus, to make way for more of it. I think perhaps the word "so" needs to be changed to "but" or something like that.

She'd never seen the like before, 'twas such a wondrous sight

because the previous line ended in a comma, lower case s, (she'd) and a full stop at the end of the line.

Much enjoyed this Sandra, and many thanks for sharing on a Sunday morning here. :))

The picture was amazing Sandra. Your words were great with a wonderful rhyme pattern. They were very well written with a fantastic flow. They showed that even someone doubtful could fall on their knees and pray to God, who will answer their prayers. Well done and greatly enjoyed. Hugs, smiles and blessings.

The Power of Prayer

Excellent poem with lovely imagery and presentation. I pray for my family every day. They are so precious. I believe in the power of prayer. The rhyme doesn't seem forced and the poem flows well. I hope to read more of your work.

Oh, Sandra, it's a beautiful poem about how faith came to this poor woman. It saved her outlook on the poverty and struggles bestowed on her throughout her life. She found solace in her belief in God.
It's so very well written, my friend. A big hug. Ulla xxx
