This is a fabulous poem and I enjoyed it very much. I also liked the video of the beautiful butterfly. The choice of the blue and green picture to accent your poem was perfect. I especially like the 'petal dancer.' Great job.

I have no problem with your words or syllable format - very nice Haiku variation.

IMHO - after your middle line, I would change your comma to a squiggle or dash. It would set off your last line in a special way.

Good notes and artwork complement your poem.

Thank you for the lovely review and generous compliments, Ric. You are already a promising poet. I had no intention of ever writing poetry when I arrived here. Dean Kuch and Boo Ghost lured me into a Tanka contest this very month in 2018. I won the Halloween Tanka and about fell off my chair. Here I am. I have the same hope for you. Poetry is strictly fun for me and therapeutic. It reflects my soul and spirit on a more?quick takeaway, mull it over level. FanStory readers move quickly through here and I find these short poems are the thing. I hope you give in and give it try.

I had no clue that there are different form of Haiku. Am I to believe that they must have a total of 17 syllables? i enjoyed reading your poem. Butterflies are amazing creatures,

I like it! Great modern haiku with the syllabic variation. The "petal dancer" works well because not only do butterflies dance on flower petals but their wings are like flower petals.

It is still a haiku and a lovely one at that. I've never heard a butterfly referred to as a petal dancer but I like it . That is a very fitting description of what they do. I enjoyed the vidio. Blue butterflies are very pretty.
