Hi Liz,
I walk from the bedroom to the kitchen, and have to holler back to my wife: "What was I coming out here for???" And I have never been hit by a snowplow. I was, however, bowled over by a sled when I was about ten years old! I landed on my head... in a snowbank.
At least Melissa remembered you. She's lucky she wasn't killed.
It's awful good of you to raise money for the food pantry. Many people don't think twice about the needy. And with prices going up for food and gas during this miserable pandemic, I'm afraid food pantries are going to be kept empty each week.
Hugs,
Kimbob

I shudder to contemplate how she came to be hit by a snowplow and the aftermath thereof.

Yet she still recognized you after all those years. Also, remembered about buying the pin, so her memory was not too terribly impaired. Amazing.

A virtual six. This is a hilarious story, mainly due to your great word choices--maraschino, ersatz yard sale, the faux flea market!!!!!!!!! Well done as usual. The snowplow accident is quite a twist.

Wow, what a horrible thing to have happened to Melissa. She seemingly recovered well enough to be out and about on her on. You did a good job recounting this event. I imagine your initial pins were/are gorgeous. Maybe just some more advertising would have brought in more buyers.
Thanks for sharing and caring.
Respectfully, Jan

Wow, that is interesting that Melissa remembered she'd purchased the pin from you, but after that horrible accident, she couldn't remember where or when. Memory is so unpredictable. Great story.

One suggestion: I was approached by a woman whom I didn't recognize. - "whom" is an unnecessary word in this sentence.

Oh my!!! but at least she remembered the pin. I keep reading that everybody is connected by six points. I'm sure I didn't say that well. I enjoyed reading this post. Thank you for sharing.

We all have trouble remembering things from time to time and the older we get the more times there are. However, I would be curious to see my condition had I been hit by a snow plow the previous December. I think more than my memory may have been impaired.

Oh, wow, I'm hoping this was written for effect and not what actually happened. It sort of reminds me of an old blues song that sang about a little dog who couldn't see too well. He climbed upon a railroad track and the train cut off a piece of his tail. Then, he raised to look up and the train cut off is whole head, just trying to find a little piece of tail. LOL. Yes, I'm nuts. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, that's so terrible! I never know with you if it's truth or fiction. But I figured there was some element of truth to this one.

Liz,

Wow. I don't know whether to be impressed that she could still recognize you in spite, or sympathize with her for getting hit with a snow plow. Bless her heart! Wow!!! Thanks!

I was waiting for the punch line to see where Melissa would be taking you.
She remembers you some years back, but not where she bought the pin because her memory is impaired by a snowplow hit. I would think that more than her memory would be damaged if you get hit by a snowplow. The only thing I think she may have left out as she was in a car. Maybe that is what she forgot!
Regards,
Mary
