An endearing story and inspirational as well. When I first started reading it, I thought it was a true story, then I saw it was fiction. A little disappointed that you didn't actually know this family. I enjoyed reading it.

I loved how you spotlighted Fred and Greg, expressing their joy of being with family, while thanks to a mysterious gifter, learning how to ice skate and fish. Great imagery. You took the story to a beautiful place in the last paragraph.

Aw, that was a very nice story. It would work as a Christmas tale too. I think the simple and profound message of giving to the needy and enjoying the simple things of being together will elevate this story. The committee loves tales like this. Well done, and a smart idea, with lots of heart.
