You did a great job, aryr, with your club entry. I enjoyed reading it. the art is perfect for your well thought out words about your fur babies. I believe all animals are as smart, or smarter, than humans. However, not all humans are attune to their animals the way some are and miss 'things.' Your 'babies' were/are precious.
Respectfully, Jan

Thank you so much Jan for reviewing. They are way smarter than us as far as I am concerned.

Hi Alie
I hope you are well? I think all animals are amazing, each with their own little character. They make me wonder why we think we are so bleedin' clever, which we ain't. I can say that my wonderful dog has her own little ways, habits and expectations. I do think she is aware when I am feeling low. Does she love me? Maybe she does after all we cannot even define what love really is. Tis why poets try to write/express exactly what love is to them.
A very cute little story which was a joy to read.
Take care, Pete

Thank you so very much Pete for reading, reviewing and your great comments. Oh my, don't even think about getting me going on whether pets love one or not, LOL. I am well as I hope you are also. (smiles are free)

I'm like you Alie I feel cat's are quiet able to read humans, and I also feel the closer we are to our cat the easier it is for them to read us and if we try we can read them in return. Love U Anne

You have a wonderful way with animals, Alie. They understand you and you understand them because you pay attention all the details. Thanks for sharing how to you provided a way for Storm to get in and out of the tub. (Cats would get in water like that??) And of course, I remember Sallie. That's a very special dog.

Thank you so much Helene. I guess I do try to understand them, you may think it silly but I talk to them in an adult voice not gooey baby talk, lol. Of all my cats and I have had eight of them not counting Tabitha, only three loved water. Tabitha is too old to convert, lol. Again thanks so much.
-
That makes perfect sense. I avoided baby talk with even my kids, well, except when they were newborns...Lol.
-
LOL, once I see the flicker of recognition I stop but then again some children and pets are just born with that recognition. They are old souls.
-
I like that "old souls." You can sense that.

Both dogs and cats are much smarter than we sometimes realize. They observe our patterns, listen to our voices, and notice our facial expressions. They also devise clever ways to let us know what they want. Your pets seemed to communicate quite well. This was a delightful pet story.

I believe that pets are in tune with us like your dog that knows when your blood sugar is low. Cats too, communicate so well as you describe. I have had dogs, cats and guinea pigs that all have been masters of communicating their needs and wants.

I love your story about your beloved cats. I have had since I was three years old and can't imagine not having one. They have all been loved, treasured and sorely missed. I currently have two cats and they are as different as night and day. Luna is practically joined at the hip. She is smart and works out 'problems' in order to get somewhere or do something she knows she should. Sometimes I think she can read my mind.

Hello Alie.
Cats and dogs do figure us out. They act purely on conditioning and they have us conditioned quite well. Some people think they have their animals trained. Not true. They spend a lot of time training us. Nicely told story.

I've heard of many dogs who have that ability to know when there master/mistress needed their medication, long before the human realised. I can quite understand how you would miss her. This is a wonderful story, Alie, and very enjoyable to read. Warm hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

I enjoyed reading this post. I have 2 cats and 1 dog. They do communicate very well. I understand.
The list goes on to show that they each had they way to communicate that they were able to understand.( TRY--The list goes on to show they each had their way to communicate what they were able to understand.)
third attempt to get in the hot tub was when I learned that I needed to provide her with a (omit 'that' it's an unneeded word)
The she would lay by my side, sort of rolled into me, as I did my chant or prayer. (You can just start the sentence with 'She would...')
It seemed that once I got my glucometer out, she was fine, knowing that I would check my sugar. (omit both 'that' it's an unneeded word)
