Excellent! It is interesting how you observe the dying leaves giving them almost human characterlike qualities as they "dive" toward their death. Great imagery. The only thing I can think you might consider, because you said you said you wanted to offer hope through your work, is that the tree does not dye, only the leaves, and in doing so, provide the soil and food for the tree to continue to live and start the next cycle. Just a thought, great job.

Thanks bro much Terry, another person has commented on the same thing. My intension was for the leaves to be the things dying. Maybe my wording could be clearer.. thank you for your kind review

Most compelling writing, beginning with the title and ending with the author's notes. I too love autumn, as did my mother. In fact, her.wedding was on.October 30th. No June wedding for her. The leaves and their counterparts the trees are a part of the ecosystem. Beautiful

Your poem is very moving, expressive, and vividly descriptive of the glory of autumn fulfilling its God-given purpose as we look on in awe. A lovely blend of literal and figurative language

I too love October and the autumn season.
You paint with vivid imagery this beautiful and yet somber time of year as the leaves wither and die but...... we know the rest of the story and that the rebirth that is coming.
Well done.
Blessings

We must never forget that all things work together in life and death. What a wonderfully written poem. I wish I had a six for you. Best of luck with your writing!
Have a great day, and God bless.

Such depths and varieties of the human experience are expressed in this autumnal project. The personification is a work of art. The poem sings through the alliterations, e.g., "...mingling with the morning mists." Flight of the Leaf will make you fall in love with fall.

I like the thought of the role of leaves in the environment. They become "tomorrow's soil", and I like the fact that though dying they have been painted in beautiful colours by death - with grace and dignity (choosing their own manner of descending on their first and final flight) - which in the cycle brings renewal of life and growth. Carefully and thoughtfully written with an excellent engagement of senses and emotions.
Typo? "Wispy"
Beautiful writing.

Your autumn poem is beautifully presented in words and image. Your lines read smoothly and create great imagery. I could see everything as I read. I agree that autumn is my favorite season with its colors, smells, activities, and all. You are right about how important the leaves are in the ecosystem. Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

I really enjoyed reading this poem on autumn and the beautiful
changes that it brings - life fallen, colour remains, ground nourished.
Just a couple of tiny edits, as shown in ( ).
Do you strive for distance, an adventurous type, or dive like a dart and go out in style(?)
Thank you for sharing this descriptive read.
And as you wither and evaporate, the golden sun warming your face, a martyr you disintegrate, a death no less than full of grace(.)

A most evocative poem and one that puts death in its proper context, as part of a larger cycle of continuing life. I was particularly taken with your phrase, "thick with tomorrow's soil".
