I remember reading this before, John, and being quite impressed by its depth and yet the simplicity of its expression.
Having been exposed to some twenty years of experience in systems analysis, five or so years selling high-level executives in the Fortune 500, [How much did you charge for a high-level executive in the Fortune 500? Yuk-yuk. Seriously, though, what did you sell them?]
After a class created by Wilson Learning -- Counselor Selling, a highly advanced sales course deep into psychology and interaction during the sales cycle. [I believe I told you already that I took the course in "Counselor Selling." As a life insurance salesman, I found it quite helpful in putting the focus on discovering the customer's need, before selling him/her a preprogrammed proposal.]
I finally reached the point where I could not see anything "wrong" in my picture, save when my Ego took control of the wheel. I learned how to calmly put it aside and return it to the navigator position. [WOW!]
Some amazing information, John. Thank you!

I don't quite understand the link, John.
-
Is it a book?

If you mean "The Uneven Zen of Time", it's more a loooong short story. It was above the magazine's limit, but the editor loved it. I guess we could call it a Novela.

Wrong link...so

Brilliant--Religion is a form of government--that statement is star-worthy in itself. Well narrated panoramic piece. The Cobol IF/THEN nesting resonates--I programmed Cobol for 20 years.

Dear Cogitator,
Thanks for the interesting and thought-provoking read. Very intriguing, your journey. I, too, have studied the pesky Ego. Some of what you describe remind me of things I learn from the Enneagram. It takes some doing to keep my Ego in check, and I appreciate your reminder and wisdom.

Hi Cogitator (John),
Fascinating excerpt of your life and endeavors! You are French, relocated to the United States at age 10 and traveled the world widely learning many different cultures and customs. Always questioning, to get to the heart of the matter and finding what makes things tick, you questioned the status quo and took nothing for granted. Looking into the origins of human psyche, human origins and the human condition, you set out on a life's quest to understand the universal truths that lay at the center of human interaction and communication. From COBAL, a computer language based on the English language, to the taming of the EGO, you dug into a knowledge most people shy away from.
So interesting a bio snippet that I thoroughly enjoyed and learned from. I am contemplating buying a copy of the Time, Space, and Knowledge by Tarthang Tulku.
So glad you posted this interesting piece :))
Have a great weekend, John,
Always,

Well John, I read every word of your snippet and every word of every reviewer concerning this snippet. The thoughts that you convey are intriguing and widespread. The responses run the gamut as well. I'm happy for you that you are settling on a stream of philosophical consciousness that is working for you.
I invite you to consider; just as your body of knowledge and Interpretation has grown and migrated over the years, the path you have taken has the ability to continue to morph. When you deny the concepts of moral absolutes, universal truths and a universal truth giver, you embrace moral relativism and all the pitfalls of the philosophy of personal truth. Is there, at that point, such a thing as superior truth? it's OK to go there, but it's hard to bring others to the point of embracing your truth. Go with it my brother, and see where it leads you.
Thanks for sharing from your heart and from the magnificent brain that you are obviously endowed with! Blessings.

You have had an interesting journey. Communication is so important in the world. People spend far too much time attempting to understand what another is saying or how they can see it in a way that they cannot.

Your writing is very interesting and I understand that it is coming from a place you greatly trust. Under the true interpretation of the Constitution, it is the citizens who govern; politicians are only supposed to represent their interests. Religion, not Faith in Jesus Christ, is man-made and therefore, serves no real purpose.
