There is lots going on in this chapter, Sal. That was really something that the DNA was Camille's! Now it looks to me as if the group are closing in. They know the assassin's name is Eugene Izard, and know where he works. That really ties so many things up. I'm going to read the next part. Well done, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Thank you very much for the wonderful review and stars. I?m so glad you?re catching up on all the chapters. Crazy, but I just posted a new chapter today at the last day of the month. My sister, Suzy, and her husband are not doing well, and we will be leaving this week to go and visit. He has an aggressive cancer and home care has been called in. I will be traveling next weekend so this is it for a week plus.
    Please pray if you would.
Sending you my best today as always,

I will, I'm so sorry your brother-in-law is so ill. I've been there with my late husband, same thing, and it was very fast. That was 36 years ago, it's a terrible illness. I will add you all to my prayers. Stay safe, my friend. (I've just read your latest chapter and told you off!!) xxx

Excellent infusion always of humour, and this time et cette fois avec un peu de francais.

A fun rip-roaring dialogue and action that always keeps your readers engaged.

Very well done, Detective Sally. :))

There are a lot of twists and turns to your stories that keep them fresh and interesting, Sally.

(You might think about doing a word search for the word HAD, as I noticed several of them popping up. For instance, the first sentence would benefit by making the line active. Instead of saying: The time had come for my testimony before the Louisiana Grand Jury.
It would have more intensity by saying: The time came for my testimony before the Louisiana Grand Jury.) This is just a suggestion as it is hard to find ways to improve upon an outstanding story. Love the racoon picture! xo Janet

Hi Sally,
I've got a question for you... who knows that Analiese Irving is with Russ DeWoody? Just the FBI? What about Mike Lembowsky and Miles Jean-Baptiste? Do they know? How far away is the Izard's place? It would help to have a map of the area to have a better idea where everything was happening. I remember having the same issue many years ago when reading Tom Sawyer.
Terrific writing though. Good to get the lowdown on Eugene. I wonder how safe Analiese Irving will be.
I enjoyed the part about Sally getting dolled up for her court appearance, especially those fishing lures for earrings, and the deep red lipstick now planted on Jackson's mouth. Serves him right.
The startling info was that Eugene raped Miles and Camille's mother, Millie! If Miles needed another reason to nab this killer, he's got it.
Nicely penned! Keep up the good work.
Hugs,
Kimbob

Thank you so much for the wonderful review and generous six star rating, dear Kim. It is so appreciated. I?m so glad you?re enjoying this book. Your brilliant mindhas a lot of questions and I?m hoping to answer them in the next few chapters. My book is coming to an end and everything will be tied together. Of course it will be dramatic.

Enjoyed the humorous description of Suzy's fashion work. I thought earrings which resembled "fishing lures" pretty funny!
So glad that Analiese is with Russ DeWoody.
Now we have more information about what happened to Camille and we have even more reason to not like that assassin. The two different cases come together!

Sal,

Nice job - but wow, his mother? That is hitting pretty stinking close to home! Ouch.

This was another highly entertaining and powerfully interesting chapter, as always. I only saw one place that might need a moment of your attention:
--> Jean-Baptiste knelt and studied the ground, scooping another wad of discarded chewing tobacco into a bag.
--> I'm sure he would have used some instrument or technique to avoid contamination - perhaps he turned the bag inside out, put his hand inside and grabbed the tobacco and then pulled the bag back right with the item inside and the bag outside-in again? Or something? (You're the detective!)

hahaha Thanks!

Thank you for the excellent review and insightful comments. Yep, this is an experienced group as they just left an active crime scene investigation overseen by Dr. Marie MacLavish. A paper bag or envelope can be used as long as it's clean. It's treated as biohazard, so you are correct to assume the specimen is never touched. Disposable instruments are used for the scooping.

Chapter Twenty. Lots of revelations in this chapter which tightens the circle around the culprit and tosses in a couple more secrets which need to be examined later. Love how your characters are so likeable.

Just this first line will get the reader thinking of how things have changed: "DNA is the fingerprint of the 21st Century." You slipped in your tongue-in-cheek humor topped on with a great simile: "dangling earrings that felt like fishing lures." This makes your setting more realistic: "A family of raccoons scurried up the tree away from the champion hound, keeping the detectives and Samson in view." As you had said to me...we are reaching way back. Some of those names sound familiar. This can go on for many chapters, the readers hope...lol

Ah, now I know how the white stones got tracked from the prison! I thought maybe Tony had escaped. I hope the hounds catch this guy before he does any more harm.

Thank you for the lovely review and generous compliments. Both are so appreciated. No, Tony is awaiting trial, and if convicted, will add to time already served. He has ratted on Eugene, hoping to reduce his collective charges. Stay tuned?.
    All my best,
