"Jorugoumo's Web", is an extremely well-written and somewhat blood-curdling piece. It was a pleasure to both read and review this talented poet's work. I look forward to seeing your next post.

Wow ! why do I feel a shiver down my spine as I read this Japanese poem ,'The Kojiki' about this large spider that can metamorphose into a beautiful woman? Excellent choice and juxtaposition of words.

It seems that a beautiful exterior and webs of deception can lure and entrap men in all cultures. You have presented the Japanese version here most beautifully and poetically.

What an interesting spider and I'm glad that you have found a Japanese painting of it. I like the words you use to describe the spider "malevolence and insidious."
Exceptionally done.
I will have to try to write one.

That's scary! I didn't know this myth but it makes sense from the way that the spider lures its prey with its invisible web. Thanks for sharing and teaching us more about Japanese literature!

Hi, Gypsy. Thanks for the generous notes about both the form and the Jorogumo myth.
This is a striking piece, especially the upper and middle parts which I felt were more 'poetic' than the final part.
