Wow ! why do I feel a shiver down my spine as I read this Japanese poem ,'The Kojiki' about this large spider that can metamorphose into a beautiful woman? Excellent choice and juxtaposition of words.

That's scary! I didn't know this myth but it makes sense from the way that the spider lures its prey with its invisible web. Thanks for sharing and teaching us more about Japanese literature!

This is a striking piece, especially the upper and middle parts which I felt were more 'poetic' than the final part.
