Look at all of these wonderful people of different backgrounds; great artwork!
You have penned a mighty poem here. Yes, our blood is nearly the same; thank God it's not identical, or we could be very easily wiped out!
There is strength in differences.

Excellent quatrain:
"As I look at others in my crew
We all look the same in danger
We all know there's none else to do
No longer can we find a stranger"

As you are a veteran, I thank you for your service.

I also liked:
"When we're family, we have backup"

Yes, we must put pride aside, and cultivate humility. I am sure that when you face danger and death with others, it cures you of prejudices very quickly.

I like your poem very much. You have vivid imagery and your message is one I agree with. I'm just an ordinary person and I've never done anything heroic but I do recognize heroism and it comes in all shapes, sizes, colors and sexes, just as your poem says. Well done.

God made us all in His image...He didn't make one better than the other...as He wanted us to be our own person...
we are different in many ways...but we are all equal...

Amen! Great poem about the human condition. I am an old lady geezer and never understood prejudice at all. Was born into a racist family, but just didn't "get it". You have shown us again what equality is - great job!

Hello! I really liked this one. You are talking about how people should be treated like equals. We really need to learn this because it is very a serious matter that cost many people their lives.

This work has reached the exceptional level

This poem speaks in a dimensional viewpoint we should not carry and pretend our pride for in family and society equality status should be maintained; well said, well done (******); thanks for sharing this. ALCREATOR

Search domain britannica.comhttps://www.britannica.com â?º topic â?º busing
Busing, also called desegregation busing, in the United States, the practice of transporting students to schools within or outside their local school districts as a means of rectifying racial segregation. Although American schools were technically desegregated in 1954 by the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision handed down in Brown v. Board of Education (1954)

I remember it actually being done in the late '60s. and early '70s.

While we were in the service, Navy for me, I never actually thought about it as I was working shoulder to shoulder with my black brothers in arms. I was too busy playing with chicks to pay much attention to public affairs when I was serving. I was even taken to black neighborhoods with my black friends onshore. I even danced and laughed with black ladies.

Job well done with your poem.

May Our Heavenly Family Bless You and Yours.

Your Friend, Danny

I had no idea you were in the military. Vietnam, I am thinking. Too young for Korea. Yes, war is the great equalizer, isn't it? Countries need a strong base of propaganda aimed at dehumanizing the enemy. Otherwise, there would be more spontaneous truces like the great German/British Christmas truce of WWI. My uncle, who was in wwII, used to send me postcards caricaturing the Japanese and romanticizing the courage and ardor of the yanks. One emblazoned the famous, "Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition." I can still picture it in my mind, though I was only 4 or 5.

Muhammad Ali was a better man than I. I was naive when drafted. I couldn?t harm a fly today.

Sounds like you saw the Muhammad Ali Public TV documentary. I watched the first half of it. He hadn't fought Frazier yet.
