The lady's ex-husband, Mr. Irving, is up to no good. I hope they catch on to him as he wanted to be free of handcuffs so he could light up a cigarette. Analiese's testimony trial date is coming up soon.

Another fine chapter by our lady of crime. This was a very interesting read. I still don't feel that Ana is safe and it's frightening to think of anything happening to her. You must have been a Detective in your past life. Everything is so perfectly realistic... the words, the actions and the sequence of people involved.
I'm sorry it took so long to get to read this, but I have been busy with painting lessons. Having the time of my life with this online course by Chady, my teacher.
I was going to leave this site until I'm done, but I need to finish your story. It is too good to be missed.
My best,
Marie

I've seen too many shows where the safe house was compromised. Somehow, the killers found it out, a inside job, a mole. I also hope the hospital is safe. Anything can happen. You've got this reader worried. This is an excellent image. You'll have the reader picturing this character: "An unfamiliar guard, sixty-something, with coffee-stained teeth," For some reason, I'm not convinced. You are doing a good job, keeping up the suspense. Especially for readers like me, who have seen too many of these protection arrangements go bad.

Hi Sally,
Has the FBI hired the Mayor of Blue Creek to guard Analiese Irving? No wonder she's upset. I'm surprised myself. Where are the FBI?
Things seem pretty lax at the parish lockup. The guard leads Tony to the warden's office, and excuses himself to the loo. Meanwhile Warden Tatum is too busy at his computer to even notice. It would be fairly easy to break out, I'm thinking. But Tony seems more interested in ratting out Eugene.
Gator burgers? How could anyone eat one of those things?
I guess the big question is, where is Eugene?
Nicely penned, Sally, as usual.
Hugs,
Kimbob

Thank you so much for the great review and stars, Kim. I recently had a bite of a gator burger on vacation over the summer and gator tail several times in the past. Tastes like chicken. Interesting developments ahead so stay tuned! Sending you my very best, hoping you and yours are well.
Blessings always,
Sal XOs..

This story is always a full-view accounting of all the players on either side of the law. The researching and discovery on one side, and the skullduggery on the other. Always amazing to read.

One thing about your writing, I like it 'cause you are very clever knowing how to draw a reader' attention; I know without a doubt you drew me in to see how all the various evidence that
Jean-Baptiste has collected hairs, clothing fibers, and a wad of chewing tobacco still moist with saliva. There's polished white gravel tracked through the cabin, the kind you'd buy in a bag from Home Depot.
Will all the evidence found give another clue?

Did the white gravel come from the prison by any chance? Did Tony manage to escape? The guy seems capable of anything, and he has some scores to settle. Can't wait to see how it plays out.

White gravel was traversed by Alfanzi back in the prison scene. So glad you like. The next three chapters tie everything together. Sending you my best today as always,

Sally,
Oooohhh... A really good chapter. I always enjoy your writing. It's crisp and tight and really gripping. Pulls you right in and won't let go until the last word - and THEN it leaves you wanting more. I'll give you the greatest compliment a reader can give a writer - if this were a book, I would have turned the page. *smile*
My favorite section was the part with the guy and the warden. He is a creepy, cunning sort and I would not want to be in his cross-hairs. Great job!

You certainly have a gift. Although I seldom read fiction, I do check on your work. This piece is definitely one of your best. I cannot suggest anything resembling an improvement...John
