Homeless problems in the richest country in the world have probably worsened in this pandemic. Your haibun is heartrending Gypsy. Especially the haiku. Author notes were enlightening indeed.
I enjoy haibun and I've promised myself to use this format to record some of my travel experiences.

I look forward reading your travel journal haibun, matsuo Basho did, centuries ago. If you have a chance, read The Narrow Road to the Interior by Basho, it's said to be the best one in history.

It is sad to see the number of homeless people increasing, and I believe that job training is one of the best paths out of this tragedy. It's like the old saw, "Feed and give a handout to a man, and you help him once. Teach him how to work and grow his own food and you feed him for life."
Liked the Mother Teresa quote, very true.
