This is an interesting slice of life seen and described from an unusual perspective. It makes for an unusual read, as we see the word through the authors eyes that are not what we are expecting to find. Refreshing. Well done!

Yes, they are absolutely all part of the beautiful tapestry of life. I love this, because I've always loved New York.
I've never lived there, but I've visited, and I could sit for hours just watching the world go by...beautiful!
Blessings...

Terrific etching of New York City. With vivid descriptions of the sounds, sights and yes scents of the street as twilight arrives. The lights snapping on in countless apartments is so apt, while all of it is actually.

Yes indeed this massive city could certainly be a metaphor or cross-section of the world.

Really enjoyed this estory.

This is entertaining and very interesting to read. I find this an excellent cross-section of the world through the eyes of someone on the top of the empire state building or wherever he was in New York City. I have never been there before so I don't really know how it feels to be in NYC. I live precariously through your story, my friend.
Thanks for showing me around!

I must've got the building wrong! I am sorry I haven't been feeling well.
I have had the stomach flu, and it has sent me reeling for a while now.
    Have a good upcoming week,

I know this is about your surroundings in New York, but truly they sound just like my surroundings here in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. So it is something of an essay about all big cities in the world and done very articulately. Deserves six stars and I'm sorry I don't have them, estory.
Well done.

This is an interesting perspective of New York City. I've never been there. It was always on my bucket list. Thanks for this detailed description of what I might have seen if I'd made it there. Well done.

Absolutely, New York, is that and so much more. You grew up there so you know it so much better than I. But, still, I flew into New York at least three times a month for 20 years, staying there for at least a few days each time. So I feel I know it quite well. I even managed to be bombed, in 1993, when in my crew hotel, Hilton, at the World Trade centre.
So yes, you do describe what is New York so very well. A city I love. I'm going next year, now that we Europeans are allowed in, once again and then I'm on to Massachussets to see my brother and family. I can't wait.
Your wonderful piece brought all this on. Thanks so much. Ulla:)))

Vivid exhilarating writing Estory. I love the vitality and variety of NYC although I think I would find the pace exhausting if I worked there. I have friends and family in the city and its suburbs but back in the day I did the tourist things including river tours.

Thanks for sharing this glimpse of the beating heart of the city.. Of course the view from the top is different from street life.

Stay safe healthy and blessed

Julia

Wow. You have covered it all except for the China Town. I have been to the New York city at least 14 times. I have seen the things you pointed out and made me missing this colorful city. We did go up to the top of the Rockefeller center in our most recent trip in 2018 when my nephew played in Carnegie Hall with the Yale Symphony Orchestra. We stayed in a house that was built in 1778 in Chappaqua which was an amazing experience because we usually stay in hotels in NYC and my favorite one is in the lower east side: Hotel 17 near the Stuyvesant Square.

Exceptionally done and beautifully written.

Very lucid observations. I think you have maintained an optimistic outlook, having grown up in New York and you still find it fascinating.
But then, observing the human genome is a life--long learning experience.
Like your question, "which is more important," and believe we are all connected to, and came from, a single spark, and when we leave, we retain that spark, the Spark of Life.
