This is very well executed and a thoughtful piece all 'round. Your encounter is not uncommon, given that tracing family is a popular 'hobby' (if I can call it that) but your view is fresh, with a clever closing comment/observation about 'meeting on line'.
I am uncertain if you are bound to a word count, but if it helps I make it 99.

This is intriguing! - it echoes an experience I had when I chanced upon a photo of my grandfather:
"Our eyes locked, as it were, when I caught his glance from the sepia-toned computer screen." He looked so much like my father - I felt I knew him already: "Our journeys did not overlap, yet we are bound." So much can be exchanged and felt in just one look.
I really liked your story... I am fascinated by roots because I am adopted and I don't know much about mine. The father I mention is not my DNA flesh and blood.

LisaMay, I always appreciate your kind replies! I enjoy the challenge of arranging power-packed words into limited space. And thank you for sharing your own story. Have you ever seen a show called, "Relative Race?" It is based on the premise that four teams race around the country to find new relatives. Many team members were adopted. It is so emotional. Some are happy reunions, others not so much. It's an interesting concept. But nearly everyone expresses so much love and gratitute for the parents who raised them (biological or not). Blessings to you!
