This is a very cute poem about children and Halloween. The mayor can be a little mysterious sometimes. The one in your poem was like the Scrooge, that we hear about at Christmas time.

This children's poem, The Mayor of Sweet-Town, is a fun romp with the mean mayor through the haunted evening on his way to his Halloween miracle. Neat.

Yay! It ends with a health lesson. That's always good for children! This is so delightful and would work well as a children's story-in-a-poem. The characters are engaging and the poem moves along well. I love the picture you found by the way.
Best wishes in the contest.

Hi, Katie Mae! Thank you so much for the wonderful review; I'm so happy that you enjoyed and thought it would be a good one for a children's story-in-a-poem... with lesson at the end! Thank you so much and have a beautiful evening!

I enjoyed your clever children's poem. It rhymes nicely and has great imagery. I'm sure that children will love it. It reminds me a little of the story about the lion with a thorn in it's paw. Well done. Good luck in the contest.

Nice children's poem with a nice ending and message about dental care. I thought "contemptuous" was a little too much for the young kiddies. but you should do okay in the contest.

This is a really sweet story and told quite well with a nice surprise ending. If you mean it to be read by children, the (. . .) isn't a good idea. The only line I question if the "who" in line 4. It just doesn't work. Good job and it might get published if you pick your market carefully.

I bet you had fun writing this reimagined tale of the misguided grinchy mayor. i'm glad we got past his bad mood and a violent attack to the fun times and the moral of the story, which tied it together well.

This is a very clever and well written redux of the original grinch, put into the terminology and time of Halloween instead of Christmas. Best of luck in the contest!
