I can relate to this poem as alot of people can. You earn to tomorrow to restart your day over. The lessons you learn make you who you are. I enjoyed reading this poem. I don't think this poem needs any work. I understood this poem.

But, overall life has been great.
What happens yet I must await.
Let tomorow come, let me see,
what yet awaits, what's facing me.

This is what toughed me. (sp -tomorrow) Good effort...John

I think your closing couplet says it all, jaybird. We have to learn to live with the past but live each day and make more memories. Another lovely and poignant poem.

Hi Jay,

Yes! I am sure you will continue your life's journey unimpeded. Your wise and pensive poem strikes a chord of hope and acceptance. Your future lies ahead on a shining road stretching out before you.... perhaps the best is yet to come :))

I am sure of it by your treasure trove of beautifully introspective and wise poems we all keep in our hearts.

Have a great week,
Senyai

Dear Jaybird1,

I have just had the pleasure of coming across your work for the first time, and I'm happy to say I loved your poem very much! I gave four stars for this one-maybe just move syllables around a bit, using line 11 for example, so it reads smoother?

You have a great outlook on life. I hope to have that positive attitude when I'm older!

Best wishes for your hundredth,

-K

I think when the thought of what is still to come and what lies ahead still excites us... that tells you life is still being enjoyed and appreciated.
A very nice thought provoking poem friend.

I like your philosophical poem where you don't linger on past negatives but choose to look ahead optimistically. I hope your future years are blessed.

A message of contentment and love for the journey you have already been through and hope for the road that still lays ahead. It was easy to read and was filled with warmth.

Fantastic and very well written. It is in somewhat very cliche at the same time like walking down a winding staircase with an unexpected twist, including a cliffhanger getting to the very end of the poem. I really like this and I do think it would be a great read within a newspaper article or a magazine. 'Let tomorrow come, let me see,...what yet awaits, what's facing me.' This is indeed a fantastic work of art with a brilliant twist to the actual poem. Well done.
