Your poem comes from a sincere awareness of what makes love work, so it lives up to the title of your poem. Cupid may start the flame but to endure love needs the commitment of putting each other first, as you mention in the 2nd last stanza. It still needs the attraction though, and the desire to please the other person willingly, or else we become a doormat.
Your poem flows smoothly, with good rhyme choices.

This poem, Enduring Love, presented in eight-syllable AABB rhymed quatrains, speaks of where love comes from, how it is maintained, and how important to happiness it is. Nice.

The author's words are descriptive, clear, uplifting and creative. I really
enjoyed the stanza right before the last stanza. I agree with putting
the other first. I found comfort in these words. The poem flows and connects well. The artwork is perfect for both the theme and words of
this poem.

This contest entry is beautifully presented in all ways, Beth. I like the perfect image, the color scheme. The end rhymes, and the smooth flow. Most of all, I love the sentiments you included. I agree with every one of them. You are right. Love and staying in love requires work on the part of both people involved. You give readers great, and true, advice.
Best wishes in the contest.
Respectfully, Jan

A very emotional, heart wrenching but lovely poem. It is a must read for many couples and those who want to rekindle or renew their vows to one another. This is indeed a lovely poem.

Thank you so much for the review and comments. I'm surprised that your gave me a low rating since you seem to like the poem. Normally anything less than five stars would come with suggestion for improvment.

This is a well written poem about love in its stages from unsure to eternal. Love is definitely a gift. Good luck in the contest.

A lovely rhyming poem about love. Your words are full of wisdom gleaned from the observance of others, I'm sure because yours was a love that binds and lasts forever.

The magic of love, the mysterious nature of it, the struggles of it, the pains and joys, all come through in your poem. I liked how you touched on all the bases here, and left us kind of uplifted, with hope instead of despair. While there is love, there is hope. estory

I am truly impressed with your talents, dear girl. This is so beautiful and true.
No one can make a marriage work without putting in the work, that is for sure. I agree wholeheartedly with your words of truth. If we do not put the other one first, we lose.
This is a wonderful reminder for those who are taking that first step into marriage. Maybe, it should be made as a part of the vows.
Thanks for sharing.
