Lauren should stick to her guns about not sacrificing her own savings. Does Mick receive any disability payments? Was he previously employed? Maybe he should check with the good old government to see if there's something he's missing out on. If Mick has family, maybe he should see if they can help. This must explain Lauren and Mick's disagreements. It is a dilemma. judi

If he's been denied eligibility, maybe he's able to work? I've seen lawyers advertise that they handle cases of people who've been denied disability. Of course that would cost him. judi

Wow!!!!! I can't imagine a person, Mick, who supposedly cares for Lauren would even think about allowing her to take care of him. I would assume it would damage his macho male ego. Hmmm, I like the game over part.

We are all broken in some way or another, but some worse than others. But wouldn't it be nice if out of all the eligible men and women in the world we could find one that is broken in a way that accents our broken piece? For me, wouldn't it be nice to find that girl who is disabled from a car wreck who has unlimited funds and just wants to make me happy. LOL. Tell Lauren, to keep the money! If she has enough money, you can always find another Mick or Ben, Bob, Bill. I know, shame on me. Thanks for sharing.

It's unfortunate for both of them to be in this situation, but one cannot expect the other to take care of them financially. They are wise to call it quits. Money issues, I think, are at the top of the reasons relationships fail. You've explained this in a well written flash, Liz.

I thought love conquers all. But maybe the love isn't there. That's what it sounds like to me.
Where do you fit into this mishmash? Without you, where would they be? I think you see things more clearly than they do.
It's a shame when circumstances weigh too heavy on a relationship. But what are you supposed to do... take Mick in? He suddenly becomes your responsibility?
