This case has been rather hard on the agents. Jackson has done a good deal towards saving Ken Washburn's life, but he is a little upset with the way things are going. There is a lot of guarding going on.

Not only did I enjoy another outstanding chapter, I also learned a new word: flagitious. It even sounds as nasty as it means although I am having a bit of trouble actually pronouncing it myself - fla·gi·tious (flÉ?Ë?jiSHÉ?s) It does not exactly slide off the tongue very easily. That hardly matters though, since I am not a detective, I probably will never have a chance to say it in a conversation. lol

I have read this three times and then been disturbed and taken away from my laptop. I refuse to let anyone interfere this time. I loved this part. The love Jackson has for Sal is so, so lovely! Having that in with this crime novel makes it so real. I have never had corn cakes, it's not an English type breakfast, so you'll have to give me the recipe, they sound scrummy!! I really enjoyed this part, my friend. I am not giving any sixes out next time until you post!! :)) Sandra xxx

Guilty as charged, and the penalty of southern-style pancakes with extra maple syrup proves they got the breakfast menu thrown at them. A fun intro that I quite enjoyed, Sally. Food is something integral to a satisfying novel in my opinion.
Truly enjoyed the vivid description of Black Bayou Creek too. Just enough to show the scene.
A superb chapter, and a fine cliff-hanger clue too.

I like the from the shoulder honesty in all your characters as it calms me to know everthing they say is gospel. This last piece with slipping questions and answers between Ken and Jackson makes me wonder about the nurse, or, simply a precaution since Analiese is in hiding.

Interesting information going on here. Your method of denoting speakers is also interesting. Your writing is easy to read and moves along smoothly, or did until I ran into "flagitious crimes". Is this Southern speak or a $10 word? I do enjoy your Sally Law stories.
