There is a sense of grief and loss in these words as you remember better times with the one you loved. Long life is a wonderful thing but we sometimes journey alone and yearn to be united with our one true love, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Very well written love poem about your deceased wife. The flow is good until the last stanza's first line. The word call seems out of place - just my opinion.

This is a beautiful love story and poem and tribute to the love of your life. I enjoy reading your poetry and am glad you share the thing that comforts you (writing poetry), with your FanStory family.

"Life's Like A Burning Candle", is an extremely well-written and delightfully descriptive piece. Penned with craft and skill. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review. I look forward to seeing your next post.

It is marvelous to have had a love that you can recall with heartfelt words.

Fate is fickle and many's the time
When loved ones pass away,
That we shed our tears on a fresh dug grave
And curse our human clay.

Hello Jake,
Another fine poem with excellent rhymes and meter.
The image of the candle giving off warmth
and a consistent glow works nicely describing
a loving relationship.
Yes, sometimes fate calls to early,
but eternity lasts forever.
Well done.
Best wishes.
Robert

And what a fine poem you have written to your deceased wife. I think you do so well with them, and I hope you continue to write many more.

Always a pleasure to read and review your poems, friend Jay. :))

-I always appreciate your
notes and poem, jaybird.
-I think it is good that
you write poems about
your late wife.
-I like the theme of the
candle and how once she
came into your life, it
"flamed anew."
-I like your verse about
when you wed, and you
have a good concluding verse, too.
-Have a good rest of your week.

Beautifully said.
Belief and faith are such amazing components in this thing called life and the practicing of it, in my case at least provides answers to my doubts. I believe in eternity, hope I'm not disappointed. Loved the message you delivered
