Why we should pray7 total reviews

Very true. I remember seeing my mother praying. She did it in the morning at each meal and sometimes just because. I remember asking her why she prayed so much. I thought she'd say something about wanting more, as we had very little. But she she said, "I like to say thanks for all I have, and also because He listens."
It took me a while to fully understand her. I understand this beautiful poem.

Hi Pookie,
I think the important message here is to keep the line open for God. Or, maybe, keep the door ajar. It's all God wants, to have that daily walk with us, to be friends with us. We praise Him for all our blessings, but He wants more than thanks. He wants to know us, and us to know Him. It's a relationship with no end. Many people only seek the Lord earnestly when they're in trouble. It's much better to know He's always there. We can only push Him an arm's length away, and that's our arms, not His.
Nicely penned for the contest! Good Luck!
Cheers,
Kimbob

Nice job with your rhyming 5-7-5. It's true that God loves us and patiently waits for us to turn things over to Him each day. It's the most important thing we can do. Best wishes in the contest!

A fine short poem, pookietoo--and it's nice to think He's listening to us, especially with the turbulent times we're going through these last few years

-A very nice image.
-The syllable count is good,
along with the topic.
-Effective description and rhyme.
-You have good advice for
why we should pray, and
a good concluding line
showing how it can make
a difference in our lives.
-Good luck in the contest.

You are welcome.

A mono-rhyming 5-7-5 about prayer. Repetition as here with 'day' has not highly regarded as a form of rhyme since the days of the renaissance when it was in vogue for a short while. There are plenty of 'ay' words you could have used to avoid employing 'day twice.
