What a fun poem! I love this, and actually relate to this to some degree. Music takes me away to places I want to be, and sometimes my music takes me so far away that I just prefer that place instead of where I am!! Thank you for a great read. Hope you find your pick! Keep writing, my friend!

Thank you Karen, glad you liked it. It was written tongue in cheek but Joe and I really do sing it. Our wives get it but other wives don't. They are miffed. (:-o) Which reveals the intent has worked!

Darn wives can be so interfering! That is so mean of her to hide your pick and interfere with your strings. Christmas lights look purdy all year round. It aint laziness, it's spreading joy, just like guitar music and having a few drinks with your mates. Why mow the lawn - it'll only grow again.

Clever and rhythmic. This guy needs to lay off the liquor and find some solutions to his problems with his wife. Sometimes we just keep picking at a sore spot and leading it to a nasty ole infection. Leave the guys where they are and give the wife some loving - does wonders.

I found this quite fun and humorous. Not sure if a true story or not, but it definitely seems accurate for a good chunk of good ole' boy perspectives. The Christmas lights were what took the cake for me!
