This is a beautiful tribute to August. The artwork is inspired, as is the poem filled with bright imagery of the stars glowing the dark night.

To write by ushering in August's poem, Stars ensures this work has a place of honour.

Hi Robyn,
This is so kind of you, Robyn. Your poem is a fine tribute to crzypnter. It's always sad to lose a member and friend in Fanstory.
I enjoyed your poem very much. What a great opening line,
"Real stars linger--
with mem'ries of their light."
It's like they're really not gone. They live on through their writing.
I like this line, too...
"When mourning tears etch wrinkles"
But your closing lines are purr-fect.
"They're much too far away to touch--
you'll always feel their glitter." ... Stars are sooo far away. Light years! Yet right here in our own Milky Way galaxy. We'll never touch them, but we'll always see their glitter.... the metaphor being, that we can't have contact with August anymore, but we can still feel what he wrote.
Excellent thoughts went into your poem, Robyn. Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Kimbob

I'm sorry about your loss. We just got news that someone in my husbands family died in a car accident today. He was moving back home to be closer to everyone when his UHaul swerved and hit a semi. Losing a loved one is never easy but this does bring a little peace.

Robyn, your tribute to your friend, August, is beautiful. Even more so after reading his poem and reviewing yours again.
It was a differenttype of poemfor you, but I enjoyed it. I especially loved the thought that reaching for stars can make one bitter, but we can always have their glitter. (That may not have been what you meant me to find in it, but it is what I found. :) )
Blessings, dear friend, and I'm sorry for your loss and the loss on the site.

Stars of what you said about August is beautiful ---
I was sad to hear we lost another member of our family. August was a dear soul and talented writer. His heart appeared in every word he shared here. Along with your well though out poem STAARS

-Very nice artwork
and presentation, Robyn.
-What a wonderful thing to
do by taking your idea for
August's tribute from his poem.
-He wrote a really good, one, but
I think he usually did.
-I didn't know him well, but he
seemed like a very kind person.
-You wrote a good poem for him
that I think is up in the stars for him to see.
-Very nice imagery that shows the
glimmer of the stars and the mourning of our tears.
-I like the ending line very much, too.
-Thanks for sharing it.

This is such a beautiful poem to honor August. I did not know him as I am new to the group. I have read some pieces about him and yours is a standout. He must have been a star!

Thank you so much for reading. You will learn that this site is quite big. You will travel in a circle that will encompass certain writers and unfortunately, leave out others. Always be sure to ask writers who their favs are so you can expand your reading groups. Thanks so much!

This is a very well made poem and a great tribute to another lost member of our little writing community.

It seems we are losing many members this year. The only positives we have is having had the opportunity to know them through their works, if not personally, and to be able to still enjoy their art here.

I totally agree. It's been a hard two or three years, really. But we keep getting new people so we are always blessed, I guess.

I was so pleased to see you recognized as Writer of the Month - I'm only mortified it took so long. I would have expected that to have happened long ago. Congrats on a well-deserved honor.
