I could feel the emotion in this short 5-7-5 senryu. You put a lot of power in your word choices. The overall presentation is a work of art. This is a wonderful entry for the contest!

Divorce is a sensitive topic because it involves an array of emotions.
Marriage is something two people in love dream to do .
Sadly though ,the trials in life are many (eg financial problems ) and not all married couples can work their way through the issues.
There are also ugly situations like abuse and betrayal;
in these specific cases signing divorce papers is like stepping out of a prison , one feels finally free again.
Keep safe.

Thanks! your vote garnered me a bronze medal podium reward. Never had a divorce, but sometimes a breakup in a relationship can free the couple to explore (better) options.

Fortunately, I do not know first hand what it is like when divorce papers are signed and the marriage is officially declared "over." I would imagine there would be tears, but OFJOY? Sometimes. More often of sorrow. I'd omit this phrase from your title.

I liked this! It tells a story of divorce that does not cause any one emotion. I feel like all the emotions can occur in the process of it. You say tears of joy so I can only surmise that the joy is finally completing this rollercoaster ride!

Let?s assume that at least one of the couple has tears of joy. For one or both, it is over!
