Real of not this is funny. You're saying you threw out the only two good eggs in the carton. I am like you. Dates mean nothing to me and I'll eat if if the taste doesn't offend me, it still retains the original color and it isn't slimy. My son claims I have the world's best immune system, because I eat things othere toss, and it doesn't seem to affect me.

Liz,

Hahaha!!! BUT. I am wondering if I am the first reader? Those were not two months, my dearest. July of 2020 would make it a YEAR and two months, right???

Oh. Hahaha!! July 20, 2021.

This gets funnier.

I thought about the spin test, but that will tell fresh from boiled, right?

I am no help at all!! Sorry!

Oh dear. That's not good. But I must remember the test. I find that they peel well if you drain off the hot water and immediately plunge them into cold water for a minute or two, then tap and crack the shells all over and the shells come off very well.
Better luck next time. lol.

I steam the eggs rather than submerse them. There are several sites on YouTube that tell how. I found it works better for me, I have a steamer basket just for eggs. I make egg salad every week.

I always used to start with cold water--several sources said to start with boiling water to make them easy to peel--next time back to cold water! Perhaps I'll try your method.

Oh, you gave me a scare! I was going to say - isn't it just the opposite because the floating is due to the shell becoming porous and bringing in air. Then you give us the real answer. And as to the easy-peel solution, they rarely work for me. Thanks for sharing!

Good! I am always surprised that in other countries they don't refrigerate the eggs in the stores. Lol.
    Have a good night! 🎵💤💖

Haha. I have never left them in the fridge that long but they did sink except for two which probably smell bad. My husband boils eggs using a similar method as your youtuber except he uses a scientific cook book. Frankly I can't tell any difference than the normal method.

Well done.
