Melissa,
This is a wonderful use of personification and alliteration in this two line poem that describes the artwork succinctly. I like the name you chose for this piece. It almost sounds like an oxymoron.
Keep writing and stay healthy

This is a fun tongue twister. I like it. I like how you twist the picture of sand and shadow into this alliterated tongue twister. How did you decide to write this poem? Was it inspired by this picture? It is an amazing piece of art.
Well done.

How cool to have so many 'sh' words altogether to describe that picture so perfectly. I see the shadow-covered shallow bowl of sand and I like the personification of it shivering!

Thank you Helen. Some of the fellas that have commented have likened it to a tongue twister and they are so so fans of this one. Haha... the gals are ok with it. So fun.. I am enjoying the different forms and I haven't written a solid alliterative verse in a long time. :).

I like this very much. I smiled when I read it. It is amazing how cold the desert can be in the shadows. This is very well done and I like the picture, too. It goes well with the poem. I especially enjoyed the alliteration, one doesn't see it used all that much these days. Nice job.

Hi Mary. I had fun challenging myself with some alliteration. I haven't written with that form in a long time :). Thank you.

Thank you. Glad you liked this one, even though it is a bit heavy with the alliteration!

Not at all, this is delightful x x x
Comment from Jesse James Doty
This most certainly is alliterative! A little heavy on the alliteration, if you ask me. Saying this poem out loud gives the mouth a quiver when it uses the 'sh' sounds too often.
Yet, I get the point that alliteration is fun and appealing to the senses when used in moderation. Thank you for sharing this enjoyable read.
Have a great afternoon,
Jesse

Haha, Jesse, you are the third male who has likened this to a tongue twister... all the gals seem fine with it. LOL. Ok, I get it that it is a bit too much, but it was a fun challenge for myself ;). Thank you.

Hello, Melissa...I see, so all the males, so far, have found it a bit much yet, all the gals are okay with it. I can see why this was fun to do.
I am glad you liked my review, anyway.

Great alliteration. Al the "S" sounds add an elegant touch. The imagery in "Shallow Bowls of sifted sand" is excellent. The picture seems to be always shifting from shadows cast on it. You might see how it sounds to you if you omit "the" in the second line. This is really beautiful. judi
