Your abecedarian children's poem meets the requirements of the contest, but is also very endearing. I've never had children of my own, but tucking them into bed must be a sweet and special task. I remember staying with relatives, when their children were small, and hearing the babies make sweet babbling noises in their cribs, then when a little older, actually coming to ME in the morning to wake me up, jumping all over, and cheerfully encouraging me to start the day... nights and mornings are certainly a precious time with children.

Sure glad you stopped by and found my offering endearing! That is a nice thing for sure. If the prompt had demanded a poem about teenage daughters, we had three, there would be nothing endearing about it!

Hahahaha! I'm sure you loved them anyway, but those years had to be harder than the rest. I know I gave my mother some gray hairs, during my adolescence. But our love today is stronger than ever. Good moms and dads are a precious gift, as I'm sure children are, also. May God bless you and your family. - Mary Kay

We all need zany in these times. Especially, kids, they're caught up in all this drama that they don't understand. What a wonderfully written poem.

Zany is good. It is refreshing. It is usually associated with laughter. Dads are naturally equipped for zany, moms being more matter-of-fact. Full disclosure: I am now 73 and I have not lost my zany! Thanks for stopping by.
