This is as so lovely John, and worshipful. It reminded me of an older hymn:
I am the Lord's! O Joy beyond expression,
O sweet response to voice of love Divine;
Faith's joyous "Yes" to the assuring whisper,
"Fear not, I have redeem'd thee, thou art Mine."
You put you own spin on this old favorite and added some more depth: My time of youth has passed me,
but at my age, if I stumble he catches me,
lest I should fall.
Just beautiful.
One spag: [Lord's] is possessive.
Sending you my best today as always,
Sal :))

This reminds me of Psalm 139. Did you use that for some of your inspiration for this poem? It is my favorite Psalm. I feel so good about myself and gain confidence when I read it. This is such a contrast to the dark whisperer who whispers such negative things about us in our ear. "He whispers words in my ear."
This is well thought out & well expressed.
