I agree with you and it has happened to many. They prey upon the elderly and the gullible. Fraud is scary because the ultimate goal is to hurt or harm, most likely wanting to steal a person's identity in order to drain their bank account. With credit card fraud, they take their personal information and can purchase online with it. I've had this happen: two huge purchases on my card unauthorized. My card had not be stolen. Twice someone voted in my name. I arrived with at the polls with my identification and asked how this could happen. The poll supervisors were embarrassed that it had, and couldn't explain it either time.
I'm so glad no one was hurt, other than being a little embarrassed. You're a wonderful mom. :))

I'm more or less immune now, I respond to absolutely nothing now, I somehow downloaded some malware which tied up all my documents and information, they asked for a $1000 to free up the hard drive, but a cluey friend of mine, painstakingly rescued most of it, well done, blessings Roy

Thank you so much for the review and great comments. I appreciate you noticing the things that needed work. I think I'm a immune but those scammers keep coming up with new angles which can entrap even those who think they can fall for them.
