Proud as a peacock says it all. As they strut around and dazzle us with their beautiful feathers and brilliant colors, we ooh and aah in delight. Yet, it is nothing until they spread their tales into a wide fan and simple knock our socks off with their beauty.

smiles, Carol

Sally,

hahahahahaha! Ain't that the truth! Of course, these creatures are rather amazing when it's not quite 'showtime' anyway. But when the bell rings or the curtain lifts, or whatever internal clock tells them it's time - man, the show begins, and what a show it is. Wow!

This was a fun one. Thanks!

-Nice artwork and
presentation, Sal.
-The syllable count is good,
along with the topic.
-Effective imagery that
describes the peacock.
-He does like to show off so
that makes for a very
good concluding line.
-Good luck in the contest.

I like this poem. I is so catchy and clever and it flows nicely. The picture is lovely too. I think that if any creature has the right to be prideful, the beautiful peacock is the one! Very nicely done. Good luck in the contest.

I believe your message here, as I listen to the band, is that there is a lot of dazzle in the beginning, but the actual main theme is stunning. When that peacock spreads her feathers, it will be colossal. When we finally hear the real song, hold on to your hat.

Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. One day I was driving home from getting my oil changed. Standing alongside the road, here in Texas there are often uninhabited areas, there was a peacock in it's full glory. I was shocked and drove down some and turned around. I wanted to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Yes, it was a peacock. I know they are not native to Texas. I have no clue what it was doing there, but it was beautiful. I enjoyed reading your poem and good luck.

This work has reached the exceptional level

Peacocks are radiant birds of the fowl family known for the bird's sheer beauty. They are best known for being a universal symbol of beauty, romance, and love. Our Hindu deity Lord Krishna always has a peacock feather in his crown! You have captured the Peacock's feature in a short poem along with the wonderful Rapsody in Blue. Much enjoyed! Thanks for sharing!

Sally,

Remember, it is the male peacock who makes the show. LO
In our travels, we saw a flock of peacocks strutting their stuff and displaying their fans/feathers.

Your overall presentation is noteworthy. Terrific combo of words and artwork! Your last line sums it all for all reviewers.

Best wishes in the contest voting.

Mark

What a fantastic 5-line poem for the contest. Your last line was so clever; I could hear the voice of confidence, the peacock so pleased with himself. Very nicely illustrated. I love this, Sally.
