I love those summer sounds that soon die as the temperature drops. You captured the summer songs here as night falls and the creatures sing all night, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Thank you for your kind review, Dolly! I can hear those crickets right now!

Charming poem. It elicits quiet summer nights, feet up, reading or daydreaming while being seduced by earthy fragrances. My cricket is in the house. His volume is just right if I'm outside.

Beautiful image and lovely words in this delightful entry. I like the fact that you have chosen a common saying and reversed it. "Heard, not seen" as you appreciate them so much. Best wishes for your entry.

Excellent imagery here. The entire piece presentation and wording creates a tone vivid with sounds unseen in twilight.
Wishing you great luck with the voters. :))

Thank you for your well wishes, Gloria! It is great fun to piece even small words together in patterns to create images and tones in readers. I appreciate your words!

This nature 3-5-3, In the Treetops, has the proper formatting and takes the readers to the dark night and the incessant chirping of the ubiquitous insects.

Lovely poem and matching picture. I like the sound of crickets and little frogs we call 'peepers' in Maine. We hear the frogs in the spring and like you, the crickets in summer and early fall. I haven't noticed them in the past couple of years. The only insects I've noticed that we have plenty of are the mosquitoes and black flies, which I can do without!

Thank you, Mary, for your kind and informative review! It is great fun to piece together words and images to create memories and even sounds in our readers! I would love to visit Maine one day. And "ugh!" to the mosquitoes and flies!

You are so welcome. It seems that in the evenings I get chatty and tend to go on and on. I guess I'm just a wordy person! I'm pleased you enjoyed the review.

Thanks to both your short poem and your Notes I can almost HEAR those Snowy Tree Crickets chirping their lullaby. The artwork emphasizes the MOOD you're after. Rod

A nice poem about a peaceful song.
Crickets are Japanese favorites and thus any short poem with them feels vaguely oriental. The words are soothing. The form is followed. The feeling is communicated well.
Thank you for sharing.
