Lovely friend poem Miss Yvonne. Interesting form too. I can't say I have that one true friend, I'm a loner. BUT...I LIKE lots of people. But, alas, I guess not enough, ha ha. Loved this, blessings...

The Bible certainly speaks of that rarity of the closeness of a friend, but I do know Jesus will stick closer than a brother, and will never leave nor forsake us. Beautifully written Yvonne. The language and deftness of hand in which you've written this, is one who is wise. Well done, blessings Roy

Thank you for giving me credit for naming the form. I had forgotten about that. You dont say what I called it though. Nor do you give Nancy's instructions. Nevertheless it is true to its rhyme scheme and metrical pattern.

It is indeed, a beautiful poem. I don't have that many really close friends, but I certainly cherish the ones I do have. I have a lot of acquaintances with whom I do things occasionally, but I have only one I feel I could tell anything. And you are so right, there are people who don't have one true friend, so thanking your luck stars are in order if you do have one!

I've heard many times that we're fortunate if we have a handful of friends throughout our entire life. Most people have lots of acquaintances, but not many friends. The description in your poem is a true friend and not just an acquaintance.

Hi Yvonne, So very right you are. To have a friend who will stand by you whatever happens can't be replaced. I have such a friend although we live more than 2000 miles apart. I'm glad you do have such a friend, as well. I loved your poem. Ulla:)))

The flow is good. The rhyme pattern is consistent. The narrative sets the mood well. Whatever the form consists of it seems to work well.
