Your captive audience was so captivated that they forgot to rush to the stage to hug you and congratulate you! Anyway you seemed to enjoy entertaining them .That is more important.

Where ever you were standing and offering your rendition of songs is inspiring. No way would you find me in front of even one person (except my grandchildren who laugh at me) singing. Bravo!

A singer are ya? A warbling robin tickling the ears and touching the hearts of geriatric bohemians. Awesome! Five songs in close quarters with a small audience is a real challenge. Would love to see the set list. Please share.

I'm sure you did a good job and sounded fine. And most of all, you stepped outside your comfort zone and sang your heart out for your listeners, which means more than anything else. Congrats! Thanks for sharing.

They may not have rushed to the stage, but I have a feeling most of the told you they enjoyed your vocal renditions afterwards. I impressed and I didn't even hear you. They would have booed me off stage or threw something.

Well, did they have another singer right afterwards? I am assuming that this was a party and people generally spend the time socializing and congratulating singers isn't top priority. I'm sure you did great!

I thought you were going to say they rushed for the toilet or the exit or the drinks trolley.
Congratulations on your bravery in public - i save my singing for in the shower... less likely to have 20 witnesses.

You did not mention the makeup of your audience.
If they were nursing home residents they may not have heard you.
The other scenario is that people expect to be entertain or that they are deserving of someone's time. I find compliments or a thank you are becoming short in supply.

    Then that explains it. The attraction was eating and socializing. If it was a more

    True--they didn't pay attention to the hostess's performance either--and she's a professional singer!
