Cynthia is ensconced in some very evil intentions. Her connection to Mason appears to be quite deep, in her mind. I am sure he does not feel the same but has the advantage of using her in whatever scheme he is involved in. She is not a good or kind person and her intentions are solely for her own gain. She is manipulating her nephew as well. She is headed for a fall.

I can't believe that I finally caught up with your posts! I doubt that will last long, before you post a bunch more chapters, in rapid-fire progression. The plot is getting very thick now! Is Jon also involved with Annie's disappearance? And could he actually be comforting the family, at the same time? But what a shock that will be, to both him and Mary! Really, to everyone.
I found only one small typo:
"Are you looking for the FB agent?"
-->
"Are you looking for the FBI agent?"
***
Cynthia thinks she's clever, trying to barge in and invade the privacy of Mary's family, but she's about to open up a hornet's nest of problems. Meanwhile, she and Mason are surely behind the disappearance of Annie, although I'm not sure about Jon... and to think, Annie is actually his own granddaughter.

Sorry for the cut and paste but I am now currently 158 responses behind. I want to make the changes, thank everyone and start fresh. Wishing you a great day.
Please forgive me for being so far behind on answering reviews, fixing suggestions, and thanking everyone for their kindness. Good thing a birthday only comes once a year. I posted to my family that I was cooking and for the first time in years, my house was over flowing for two days after two days of cooking. Now in three days, Matthew starts filming again and I must cook for them. This woman is tired. Thank you for all your support and kindness.

Another great chapter. I enjoyed reading about the latest development. There's something rotten in Denmark, methinks. I wait for another chapter.

Yet another great and interesting chapter. Cynthia's purse sounds like mine. lol. You have done an excellent job in creating her complex character. I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

What is Cynthia up to? What is she trying to prove to Mason and Michael? I see that she is hell-bent on go wherever Liz goes. Interesting chapter. But the characters are still wondering what will happen next and how they would deal with Cynthia. But I don't think she is that bad.:):) Let's see!

Eureka, I've caught up! SINthia is a shrew...
Thinks she's on par with Mason, but his threat about Michael gave her some trepidation...
I thought Annie might have been with psycho priest Jon...still, if he shows up at the cottage that will be a dramatic confrontation!
You got me! I was all in on Mason knowing about the drugs... Perhaps he doesn't keep SINthia in the loop!?
Michael, to my great relief, is not cold blooded. He's regretting his actions and fretting about Annie...
Me too!
Where the devil dog is she!?
Great chapter...

Perhaps he keeps his secrets close to his vest and only shares his time with SINthia. She thinks its one thing and Mason is on a completely different channel.

Don't you love SINthia?? Isn't that the perfect spelling for her?

Oh no! I hope the guards will know that they need to move Faith and Mary if they were able to return Mary to the cottage. Perhaps someone else will be guarding the place. So much to bring together. Poor Michael having to pretend innocence from his conniving aunt.

Carol,
D. V. US.
That woman is something to watch out for. I think - after this novel is completed - a PREQUEL would be a great idea. Something that shares more about SINthia's life. I'd read it. I'd buy it. Yup.
Notes, if I may:
1.) Mason won't be happy with this turn of events.
--> 'wouldn't'?
2.) "You need to remain focused on our goal, (N)ephew.
3.) Isn't the prospect of gold and a rich future (the reason) you came out here?"
4.) I need to know what they said."
--> what they said or HE said? Just checking
5.) "Are you looking for the FB(I) agent?" Cynthia chuckled,
6.) I almost didn't put this one - so it's probably out of order. But your writing is good enough that you need to know even the tiniest of details to make it SHINE.
--> Jon paced across the room and looked out the back door.
--> delete 'across'
--> watch out for slippery 'directional' words that try to creep in when they are no needed. Ex:
a,) Barbara reached up to get the fly swatter.
b.) When Benji fell down he broke his leg.
--> get the idea? In each of those, the 'directional' word (up/down) could be deleted to streamline the sentence and nothing is lost and the sentences are tighter.
Thanks so much! Great job!

Great chapter! Wow, Cynthia is bound and determined to get into Liz's house, and now into the cottage also. She's a slick one! Poor Michael is really under her thumb. Hope he survives. Blessings. Carol

You story is always exciting. I assume Cynthia doesn't know about the drugs. She seems to think she knows everything Mason know and acts as though they are a team. I would think Mason is just using her but I'm not why she is of any use to. Apparently she, Mason and Jon are all in on the kidnapping. I think Jon wishes he never gotten involved. I don't think he all bad but he is weak. I'm anxious to read more.
