I wonder what happened to him?
why is this happening to me is a question everyone asks when faced with unpleasant things. In India many of us blame either the planetary position or 'fateline' .

This is fictionalized. based on a friend's experience. I plagiarized the punchline from my own stories about "poor Chuck"!

It makes one wonder, doesn't it. Just a side note. Biden screwed up the knowledge and the AIDs vaccine too. I am wondering how many things we are going to allow him to mess us. Just a thought.

Liz,
Wow. Great question. Some people have all the bad luck! It might be a bad alignment of the stars, I guess. Maybe some condition where a bad childhood spills over to adulthood? Hmmm...
There's GOT to be an answer. Maybe if all your readers think, think, think... we can come up with something. Hmmm... I'm gonna put on MY thinking cap and see if I can come up with anything. I'll let you know if I do. Thanks for this head-scratcher.

We hear so much about the heroin addicts these days and how many die each year, but it isn't a new thing. I can remember being on the streets of Santa Monica when the streets were lined with heroin addicts way back in the early 1970s. I was looking for a bump. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

A bump means another dose of the drug to pick me up. LOL. And I was just joking about me looking for one. But it was all around the streets even way back then. Speedballs were the most hip thing to do in those days. Half heroin and half cocaine.

Hmmm. Why, indeed?! Shall we review, Tim?
Such is the life of of denial for addicts...
I'd get such hard core heroin addicts in the ER the only way to get an IV in them was to ASK them which vein wasn't blown.
I can't help but wonder what became of him...

It shows how weak an addict can be. Rather than take responsibility for his addiction, he feels wronged.
Very sad life that probably was cut shot.

Isn't is sickening the depths they will sink to to get that drug in them? I was just reading a story about a woman who was addicted, and she would do anything to get her fix. She had practically run out of places to shoot up. I can imagine that there was no happy ending for Tim. You were brave to volunteer. It must have been heart-breaking. judi

I like the rant. It is frustrating to see the addicted relapse after relapse. I am surprised with your last line: "Week after week, Tim would whine: Why does this always happen to me?"
Why am I surprised?
I entered 'Bunker Vacation' in War Story. This is the last line: Robin, on the nod, scratched at an itch on his cheek. "Fuck that shit," he said in a soft, weak faraway voice, then whined, "Why? Why me?"
I am glad you have a heart for the troubled and week.

This is sad. I'll bet Tim has long since ceased to exist. Was he complaining about the infection in his neck or the fact he was being implored to quit using.

Well there's a good example of why? Why would he ask? Why him? Isn't it funny? The definition of a fool, is repeating the same stupid thing repeatedly and expecting a different result. Beautifully written Liz, blessings Roy
