Bill,
Well, that's not fair at all. I would love to visit Canada. When I was young and thinking of places I might like to visit - all the romantic and crazy bucket list locations - Canada never made the cut-off. But now, I have heard so many wonderful things about so many of its beautiful landmarks and people. --sigh-- Yep. I'd go there in a red-hot second.
Thanks for making that worse. Yeah.

I can't imagine anything I wrote made Canada seem appealing. : )

Growing up in Detroit, I traveled to Windsor a few times over the years. During the last twenty months f my enlistment in the Air Force at the Grand Forks Air base in North Dakota, I had the occasion to travel to Winnipeg, Manitoba Province of Canada. Several things stood out to me in retrospect. Some of the most beautiful women I have ever seen in my entire life. Friendly and accommodating. Had I the sense I was born with, I would probably have married and settled down there. I did not, instead I opted to look to Minneapolis, Minnesota for romance and nearly married an underage, immature girl of sixteen, narrowly escaping with my freedom intact. Whew!

Freedom in many ways I guess.

I hope so, too! We love our Canadian neighbors. And we have wonderful Canadian writers on this site. Thanks for sharing that fun memory. I think that was nothing compared to the treatment we got trying bring Asian food back to the US from Canada. Sheesh!

Is Canada the hub for Asian cuisine?
-
No, it's just we were closer to Vancouver's Asian market than the one in our own state.

I've never been to Canada, but if I went I would avoid the big cities and see the countryside. It seems you were always squeezed between brothers. lol. Sounds like fun. I was an only child.

I'm sure the grass is always greener on the other side of the sibling count.

Smooth writing--great work on this one. Clear and concise language that flows well. I like the ending line. I don't see any editing issues or changes. Overall it is a really solid piece. Nicely done and thank you for sharing!

Is this really a piece of fiction? It reads like a non-fiction. It's your childhood memory of visiting Canada. I have visited a few cities there like Vancouver, Toronto, Thunder Bay and Winnipeg. I like Vancouver the best. It is a beautiful coastal city with very good Chinese food and sushi.
Well done.

I changed the note to nonfiction. Yes Canada is a nice place to visit.

From my perspective Canada and the United States have tended to merge into one, but I suppose that is a rather uneducated view. There must be many differences. Perhaps it is similar to the case of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

The only mean thing in Canada is their hockey players. They are brutal.
