Don't you wish rain would come to the places that really need it. It seems like some places are parched and others are getting too much rain. Anyway, I'm glad you're getting the rain you needed. It must be a relief not to worry about turning the hose on. Excellent rhyme. I enjoyed, and it's really appealing. judi

thanks so much, Judi. Tonight when out for Mexican food with women friends - no umbrellas - it absolutely poured without end while there. My car was way down the parking area so the waitress cut a hole in a garbage bag (clean one - ha) but wind was blowing so hard, got soaked anyway. Picked up friends who only got half soaked. Drive home on the freeway rather harry, but now home, dry and in comfy pjs. Now, arent you glad to know all that?

Your poem about the rain is very well written, good rhyming and easy to read. After several days of hot weather, we are getting a reprieve today with a few showers and much cooler temperatures.

I liked your fun rhyme of "hoses" and so glad that "this child reposes." I know what you mean but I don't even roll the hoses back up. I just leave them. And we did have rain yesterday, too. Hooray!

If I didn't, I'd probably trip over them and break my silly neck.
Thanks and I'm glad you got rain too. Heavenly.

We, too, have seen scant showers and when it does come, we're thrilled and thankful, much like the Speaker in this poem. A lovely photo is included.

Sometimes we just long for something that we normally do not like. Rain is that evasive thing that has its ups and downs in our minds. Most of the time, I just love rain. I feel your anticipation.

Thanks, Ralf! I have no sprinkler system, (may be forced to tear things up and get one,) and pulling heavy, 100 ft hoses around is getting to me. So, besides the "wonderfulness" of the rain, the reprieve of one day without having to water, is divine. I can't ever remember having too much.
Thanks for reading and for your comments.

I enjoyed this very much for its simplicity of enjoying just a steady rainfall.
In the Northeast, we have had so much heavy rain or hot days with high humidity, it is nice to think of a day just seeing the rain as a welcoming cooling event that refreshes the plants rather than drowning them.
Very well-written and enjoyable poem. The picture is a compliment to your poem.
