This is a delightful poem and the picture is a perfect choice. I grew up in the mountains and now I live in Maine not far from the ocean. I love to walk on the beach or sit on a rock and watch the waves come in, but being a mountain girl, I'm distrustful of those waves. This is a lovely way to help a child overcome that fear. It fits the requirements for the contest so I think you are well on your way. Good luck!

Thank you very much, Mary. I can understand why adults who grew up in the mountains might distrust ocean waves. I am so pleased you like how I conveyed my lesson.

I really like the picture you show here. And your words are words that would reassure a child. I like the thought of the grandfather, holding the child's hands and helping him not to fear.

Read the requirements of the of Italian Rispetto, you followed them and created a neat little children's poem.
I do remember my first time at the ocean beach, how the waves tore the sand from under my feet and tried to knock me down.
My Dad was there to steady and reassure me, but I was still afraid and stayed in shallow water.
Good work,
irish

Aww I love this! Children are scared of many things and how they are explained to them makes all the difference in the world to alleviate those fears. This was a wonderful way to calm a child. Good luck in the contest.
