Really! Who would even think of doing something like that to secure their career. I guess the author would. LOL. Imagine if we all tried to come up with a list of people we needed to get rid of so that we could survive. That would be quite a rotten world.

Thank you for the great review, Ralf. Yes, that would be a horrible place. Yes, this guy was seriously going to the extreme to be sure taxi's wouldn't start delivering food. Haha. I really appreciate the generous stars. Have a wonderful night.

Oh, I would have put this under the Crime Thriller category. I didn't expect that ending. I was thinking this is so timely considering the current news on Afghanistan. I don't think Uber Eats drivers would compete with regular drivers - maybe GrubHub?
Best wishes in the contest.

Thank you for the great review, lyenochka. I went back and changed a couple things so it doesn't reflect on the Afghanistan situation. He's taking out taxi drivers because he's afraid they will expand into delivering food instead of passengers. lol I really appreciate the generous stars for this silly piece. Have yourself a great day.

I like how you set the scene by describing the heat and humidity. This FORESHADOWS something grim will happen. We wonder WHY Jake bothers to converse with the taxi driver when he knows what he will do at the end of the ride. The ending does not quite work for me as Jake shows no remorse.

Thanks. Sorry the end didn't get it for you. Next time I'll have the murderer have some remorse for who he's killing.
