I have been away with some of life's barriers, yet...on return from on and off without much concentration, I read your work here and was delighted what faith can bring. Yes, a poem of faith, and a lovely presentation, Light and airy, it sailed to the heights, and delivered, beautifully.

Beautifully written, Portia. Every rhyme seems effortless, and the rhythm is perfect. The meaning of each line is so relevant to what we, as Christians, need to remember in our daily walk with Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
"Let me not reject the truth of Your word;
as my spirit discerns all I have heard."
Very meaningful! And so is this:
"Shine Your light on the pathway I should take;
keep me strong in Your might and wide awake."
It's so important for us to stay awake and watchful, at all times. Thank you for your encouraging words.

This reads as a great prayer, Portia. Your words flow smoothly with good rhymes and create great imagery. I could see this being spoken by one who is faithful but still depends on prayer to do his/her best everyday. The image is perfect.

There can be little or no doubt that this is a noble cause. Pursuing God's approval is the greatest quest one can be involved in. Certainly chasing after riches is a foolish and dangerous quest. Building up riches in heaven is a much wiser course.

I wrote this prayer poem because I have been under attack by the enemy. I agree with you, dear friend; staying focused at times is difficult, but I refuse to allow the enemy to steal my joy. Remain strong, my friend; God's word is our weapon.
