Waking up to find so much has been settled would be quite satisfying. Yet there is much more to be settled. The upcoming trial of Tony is part of the unfinished business.

Your Black Bayou Swamp description is superb! And you have just the right follow up dialogue in the hospital scenes. I am still totally in awe thinking about those gator burgers being on a menu! xoxo Janet

You never fail to amaze me. What an exciting story that moves so quickly that I have to recall the characters. But you make it easy to follow with the names on the bottom. I was confused for a second when to said Olivia and then Camille, but then I remember she had amnesia and didn't know her name.
You've done it again! Made all these characters come alive on the page and in the story.
Now we just have to worry about Tony and the safety of Annalise. I am anxious for the next chapter.
Well done, my friend. You are so professional.
My best,
Marie

I'm glad I'm not hiding in a place like that, with no Burger King and only gator burgers. But she's been found already, hasn't she? Too bad they didn't shoot Tony when he grabbed Olivia. I'm glad she wasn't upset at being found.

The missing girl is identified. A lot sure happened when you were resting. At least the Olivia has a name and has an identity. Part of the mystery is solved until the trial is scheduled.

Hi Sally,
Mosquitoes are very bad right now in our neck of the woods. But they aren't big enough to eat a cabin. It must be bad down in Louisiana, though, eh? So much standing water, all the swamps.
I'd have to be starving to visit this eatery in Black Bayou Creek. Somehow a charbroiled gator burger doesn't appeal to me. Surely they don't eat alligators down there, do they? It must be just a name for a greasy beef burger.
So, my question would be, how did Eugene find out that the FBI were hiding Analiese Irving in the Black Bayou swamp, 50 miles from the nearest cell tower? Does he have a spy in the bureau? Perhaps a secretary? He had to find out somehow.
FBI agent Samuels has a partner with him, looking after Analiese. I wonder if Eugene is alone, or if he has some help with him? He ordered three dinners. He's a big man, but can he eat three gator burgers? They're bound to come with fries and gravy.
I'm thinking the Haverty party of three are gator hunters, looking for a trophy or two.
And, during Sally's 3-month coma, Lieutenant Miles Jean-Baptiste and Suzy fell in love, and are now engaged. The world keeps turning! And Olivia/Camille is getting some of her memory back.
Suddenly, we find ourselves back into suspense. You have done a great job with the atmosphere of the Louisiana swamp, the rustic and isolated cabin, and the honky-tonk gator grill. We know a bit more about Eugene, as well. He's a big man, and he doesn't dillydally when there's a job to be done. Let's hope he works alone, or Sally could be in danger at the hospital.
I like Miles' comment,
"I am hopeful now, hopeful in the good God who gives second chances!"

: This isn't Burger King! It's my way, or the highway!" ... (you left out the opening quotation mark for this sentence)

Nicely penned, Sally! Keep up the good work! I think there's lots more to this saga.

Hugs,
Kimbob

I have no doubt you know of a place similar to Black Bayou Creek. That such a creepy place actually does exist. This fact makes it possible in the imagination of the reader. This is a fun line and sensory imagery. It is also onomatopoetic. "Just as the door slapped shut," Well written as usual.

It's sort of like smoke, always lingering and making us wonder what's about to happen next, or where's the fire and who set. A whole lot to think about. Thanks for sharing.

Ha! I suppose a cabin could be eaten by mosquitos "roughly the size of a cement mixer...." Your vivid descriptions, even when exaggerated, are a key component of your success as a writer of both poetry and prose. Your description of both the old cabin and the local "eatery" fit the atmosphere of the region well.

In Section One, you introduce a new character, gigantic Eugene, who has been lavishly paid by Tony Alfanzi to murder Analiese Irving, who is now in the care of FBI Agent Fred Samuels and his partner. That Eugene would show up in the same remote location cannot be coincidence.

Meanwhile, in Sections Two and Three we learn the essence of what went on during the three-month coma: Suzy Fleming and Detective Lieutenant Miles Jean-Baptiste fell in love and became engaged; and, thanks to Samson's help with the piece of blanket, Camille seems to be regaining her memory.

Yet, the suspense continues as this once-cold case keeps heating up.

Superb, and aptly illustrated.

Another intriguing and well-written chapter, with plenty of action, some quite creepy and foretelling danger. I hope Sal recovers well - it will take some time after being in a coma for three months. Well done for Samson - clever dog. Looking forward to the next.
