Oh, how witty -- yes, those crows certainly did 'murder' that poor ol' guy, ripping the stuffing out of him. (LOL) This is wonderful wordplay and a highly creative 5-7-5. I see how it won! Congratulations on this charmer.

VERY good! and congratulations on winning the contest. Also on receiving All Time Best and for being recognized. Goodness!
I can see why you did. Your words succinctly tell the story and also give to some, a new definition of the word, murder. Very nice.

Hello Katharine. Thank you so very much for your wonderful review and comments. It was a fun one to create and use word play as the focus. These little ones need a bit of ..umph.. to make them jump a little ;). Thanks again!

Congrats on your prize for this whimsical 5-7-5--spot-on title complements the theme--you nailed the imagery of stuffing depletion. A murder of/by crows!

Melissa,
This is a witty 5-7-5 poem that describe what crows to do scarecrows.
I like the pun with murder of crows. With murder being a group of crows and what they are doing to the scarecrow.
Congrats on winning the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy

LOL, too cute. And let this be a warning to farmers to not make their scarecrows so cute, that the crows pull out all of its stuffing.
Great job with your entry into the contest, and I wish you much luck with the Committee. :))

I thought the purpose of a scarecrow was to scare the crows away? Obviously, it isn't working. Maybe they should have made the scarecrow look scarier? This is a great, unique subject for the contest, and best of luck. "Murder of crows" makes for a great line. That's what they're called. judi

You're very welcome. We always have a bunch of crows hanging around in the winter. I'd hate to see a bunch of them together when I was out walking. judi
