Jesse,
This is a well told story of your oeration and recovery. I think you were right to get off the oxy as quickly as possible. It may have helped that you had such a rapport with your medical team. I don't understand why a doctor would want you to stay on highly addictive pills and longer than you felt a need to. You have good goals that seem attainiable to me too.
In the penultimate paragraph, I think thanks should be thankfully.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Happy Holidays

Thanks, Joan for this wonderfully supportive review! I am glad you agree that I got off of the oxy and I don't understand why my doctor wasn't supportive at first of this idea! I am off of all pain killers I stopped since September of this year! It feels great to be one of the people who don't turn to pills whenever they feel the slightest ache!
I agree I have good goals and I agree they are attainable if I can only wait!
Thanks, for the suggestion in the penultimate paragraph to change thanks to thankfully!
I appreciate your honest review a lot of folks just talk about their own experiences and that is not the same as offering a suggestion or two!
I intend to stay healthy I just had my booster covid shot yesterday!
I will keep writing as long as I am alive!
Happy holidays to you as well!
Have a wonderful Wednesday, my friend!
Jesse

Virtual six. You are quite the rider. Is this biographical? What type of surgery did you have? How is your walking now? BTW, prescription xanax is the drug that got me hooked on drugs and led to my drug addiction which led to what my wife calls "a decade of darkness." After becoming addicted, I had periods of homelessness and my drug of choice became crack cocaine. It is only by God's grace and the support of my wife and family that I am alive and in recovery.

Thanks again, Tim for this virtual six! Yes, this is autobiographical and I had neck surgery because I broke it while in the bathroom I tripped and fell several times that night! As for prescription pain killers since September I have been off of all of them! Even Tylenol I found out that I am allergic to it as well as all pain killers!
So, I am happy to say I am pain pill-free for over three months now!
I hope I have answered all of your questions I am glad you dipped into my portfolio to find this and gave an excellent review.
Have a great Tuesday, and I appreciate you my friend I will always have your back!
Jesse

Hi Linda. What a surprise, I haven't heard from you in what seems like a long time.
Thank you so much, for this wonderful review and 5 stars. I appreciate your caring response to my pain...I cannot believe you had three neck surgeries too. And you are walking again...that is amazing and healthy. I hope in the future to be walking unaided or with walking sticks before too long. I will keep Fan Story posted as to my progress in my recovery.
Have a lovely walking day,
Jesse

Jesse,
This life-fulling experience is well-deserving of Story of the Month.
The story took the reader on a journey with you relative to your pre-surgery, surgery and road to recovery.
I love your positive and grateful attitude towards your overall health. I strongly believe that you will reach your goals of walking on the beach nature trails.
This is a true self-motivating experience. Congratulations!!

Wow, what a surprise! Thank you for all the praise and accolades regarding the story of my surgery and recovery! I appreciate the exceptional review and rating, my friend! Thanks so much!
Yes, I believe I will walk again but first I need two more surgeries on both my knees, separated by six months at least!
I will keep Fan Story posted as I progress!
Have a wonderful day,
Jesse

Jesse, I'm so very glad to hear that your operation was a success and that you are feeling so positive about life and the prospect of being able to move about more freely. I applaud your generous comments about the hospital team. What wonderful people they are, but so often caregivers go unacknowledged. Much kudos to you for that.
I'll say this for you - you're a true battler. Not many could have gone through what you have in life and retained a positive attitude.
Once again, I'm thrilled to hear this news. All my very best wishes for the future. Tony

Thanks, Melissa...what a surprise! I did not expect any more reviews for this one, so I am grateful for your encouraging words!
I am still in a wheelchair but hope to walk with the aid of a walker soon.
Thanks again and have a great day,
Jesse

Wow! I have never had an operation, but I'd be terrified. You handled it so well, so optimistic and full of positivity. I was a bit concerned about the Oxy. I've heard so many bad things about it, but you were careful and got off it quickly.
I do hope you can ditch the wheelchair very soon and feel the sand between your toes on the beach. Good luck with it. Lucky you had such a great team in the hospital too. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Sandra, for this encouraging and positive review. You are very fortunate to have never had an operation. I have had more than half a dozen in my lifetime.
Thank you for your kind comments and well wishes for me getting out of my wheelchair for good. I am working on walking with the aid of a walker in my hallway every other day. I have two physical therapists who are helping me with this. I will keep all of Fan Story updated, as to my progress, as I continue to improve my walking skills.
Have a great evening,
Jesse

This is a well-told story and you should be proud of you ability to get of oxi. Been there; done that, and it is far from easy. With your faith in your ability to heal, you should be walking just fine soon. Best of luck for many things.
