Another interesting twist. I wonder what is going to happen to the neighbor. I look forward to the next chapter to find out. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

It's a neck and neck race to see who will put the screws to whom! Daryll, I feared, would detain Annie... He's hell bent on getting that gold! Cynthia, on the others hand--Cynthia is right up there with Mason Caldwell (maybe literally?) as being rotten to the core! We knew she'd be barging in uninvited...but alas, this mystery of the unknown child is churning all of her suspicious and malevolent gears! How can you be such a kind and wonderful person and write so convincingly of such evil and devious things?! Cuz you're good! No--Great!

Fixed Rover and he turned upside down and wanted me to rub his belly...not your life because I know where Cynthia has been and Rover was there with her. LOL

Hung around a few of those evil and devious people and it made a definite mark in the corridors of my mind I guess. LOl

Smiles and sweet dreams. Thanks for an awesome night of reviews and lifting my spirits.

Cynthia is not reluctant to let Darryl know just how curious she is about recent goings-on around Liz's home. She is exposing herself more than she realizes which will no doubt result in Darryl's careful answers. Why should he have to explain anything to her? Indeed, she has stepped a few steps too far.

Darryl is definitely beginning to question Cynthia's snoopy motives. She is exposing herself when she thinks she is exposing others.

Cynthia isn't just a nosey neighbor, but pushy, too! And she's got that gold, as a powerful ulterior motive, with her mercenary nephew, Michael, egging her on. I hope all of this doesn't put little Annie in danger.
I didn't find any errors, yay!

    Hi Mary Kay...

Hurrah sweet lady for enjoying the story and for telling me I didn't do too bad on the writing either.

Question: Do you think I use too much dialogue? Should I do more narrative talking instead? Just trying to get a feel on how the readers like the style or not.

Hi Carol, I think you're doing great on the writing. I enjoy the writing, and you have a very good balance of the various elements of storytelling. If something was off, I would have noticed it! Personally I enjoy dialog. You're doing a beautiful job. God bless you! Love, Mary Kay xoxo

I wrote "dialogue" but that faklempt autocorrect changed it to dialog. I'm just saying. Lol.

Yep, Darryl has that right, the 'harmless old lady know toooooooooooo much!' Time to shut her up, stick her in the cesspit, no one will look there!! Cesspits do come in handy. I used one in my Time Travel trilogy! Lol. So, why was she so jolly when she came back from wherever it was she stayed? She surely does NOT have a man friend????????? Who would be mad enough to want to be with a sneaky nosey-parker? Well done, Carol, you got me all fired up again. Off to read the next part. :)) Sandra xxx

Yes, why was she so happy, and is it possible it was a man???? Now, what sneaky low-down scoundrel would she be sharing time with?? I agree...she needs to go in a cesspit (septic tank in my backyard might do). Same some of that spit and fire for a few more chapters...you'll really be hopping then. LOL

Carol,

Exceptional writing - though that's no surprise. It's your extraordinary talent shining. But the descriptions and dialogue in this chapter were especially nice in my opinion. Well deserving of a six!

    Hello, my sweet friend,

How special is this review!!! Thank you for the thoughtful words and the stars. I appreciate it very much. I've been working on drawing the reader into the scenes as well as the conversation. I am glad that you felt it. I've lost a little readership and I am unsure if it's the story that isn't holding their attention, my writing, or just the season with so much going on around us. I appreciate that you have continued to follow.

I could feel in this scene that you had slowed down a lot and I liked that a great deal. I was able fall into the scene more.

I'm still here but there are times when I'm not able to read as much. Hugs-

Uh oh, I hope Cynthia doesn't do anything to hurt the little girl. She sounds like she could be a dangerous person. Another enjoyable chapter.

yup, Cynthia isn't to be trusted even by her nephew, Michael. He is excited about the gold but doesn't really want to hurt anyone. Hope he doesn't!

Oh-oh. I don't know who's side Darryl is on but he's dangerous and Cynthia is interested in getting gold. I hope they don't team up. And hope the family in the cottage stays safe!

Comments:

We don't even know who she is?" (maybe an exclamation point instead of a question mark here)
