I was just browsing and found this. You did a great job of getting in the words as required for your poem. You mention so forcefully the problems we're experiencing right now, the crime, the border situation, CRT being taught in the schools, the confusion over COVID. Those are such serious matters, and as you mentioned, they aren't really being handled. Add to that the recent fall of Afghanistan, made worse by the weapons left behind and the people trying to flee the country. I hope a solution can be found. Your expression is excellent. judi

I don't condone violence either, but Donald Trump did not ask people to break in the capital and should not be blamed for it. Furthermore, why is there no investigation into the death of Ashley babbitt? Anyway, we'll agree to disagree and I truly thank you for reading my poem. :)

well no doubting which side of the political fence this one falls down on. A definite bias showing. top be fair though, democracy in the US before Biden took over wasn't exactly a shining beacon either if we're being honest.
i don't think the US has lost its way at all. I just think the blinkers have come off and all can see the inherent inequalities, injustices and hyprocrisy that has always existed.
The US has always been a country of duality and contradictions, right from its inception.
You get your point across well in the piece.
illegals when referring to them as a group needs no apostrophe.

Thank you for reading my poem and for the correction. You make some valid points of course, but what worries me is the fear and hate mongering that is going on. Critical Race Theory, defund the police, letting violence run rampant. It must stop before we can continue on as a nation. Thanks again for this insightful review. :)
